JOAN SMITH WESTON, Jun 2, 1922 - Mar 19, 2021
Joan, beloved wife of the late Jack Weston, passed away peacefully at Season's Retirement, High
River, AB, on March, 19 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, son Tom, parents
Reginald and Lillian Smith, sister Queenie Nielsen and brothers Joseph and Reginald . She is survived
by her daughter-in-law Alice and her children Jim (Pam), Vicki (Nolan) Romeril and Ron (Ann) as well as one brother Gaynor Smith (Deanna); 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a great source of pride to her and she loved them all dearly!
Joan was born in Norwich, Norfolk, England and received her education at Cardston. She was an
active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and served for many years in various
musical positions. Her musical talents began with playing piano at the age of four, a child prodigy and
was self taught with the accordion. She spent many a summer enjoying the Accordion Festivals in Kimberly, B.C. She carried this love of music throughout her life.
She enjoyed a keen sense of humor and quick wit, that stayed with her even while her health was declining.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lee Rehak and the staff at Season's Retirement, High River, for their kindness and care. Due to Covid-19 a private family service will be held.
