Robbie Tyson Blair White Man Left
‘I ki’naan skii’ (Singing Gently)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robbie Tyson Blair White Man Left on Friday June 7, 2019 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta; at the age of 32 years old.
Mourning his passing is his loving son Jaylen and companion Tiffany Long Time Squirrel; his grandmother Theresa White Man Left; father Daniel (Bobbie) White Man Left; mother Lorna Bird (Arnold); sisters Meagan Atwood and Marcia Bird; brother Curtis Bird; uncles Ricky (Geraldine), Melvin and Curtis White Man Left; and aunt Noreen Wolf Child.
Robbie was born on December 31, 1986 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He was raised in the Standoff community on the Blood Reserve by his grandparents Theresa and the (late) Alphonse Francis White Man Left. Robbie was considered to be a true kiipitapoohka, he was raised and adored by them. Robbie was a joy to have around. He had a gentle nature which help him make friends easily. He can be described as a person whom had compassion and generosity for all; he loved being around family and friends and mainly just hanging out. His quick wit and humor will be missed.
Robbie attended elementary, middle and high school at the Saipoyi Elementary School, the G.R. Davis Elementary School in Fort Macleod and both the Kainai High School and Catholic Central High School in Lethbridge.
While growing up, Robbie had a passion for the sport of basketball; he loved playing and was always up for a challenge against his cousins and friends. His favorite number was 23 and would always want to claim that number when he played. His favourite basketball player was Michael Jordan.
Robbie was known to have a smile on his face; he loved to joke around and really liked to laugh. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping. A fond childhood memory included being a kiipitapoohka up at the Sundance, he would be found in his grandparents Tipi and camp. When his Grandma Theresa would look for him, relatives would say that he was out having fun. That, he was with his friends/cousins probably hanging around on cars. Robbie would deny this and insist that he wasn’t doing anything wrong, as he didn’t want to get into trouble.
Robbie was predeceased by his daughter Harmony Chief Calf/White Man Left; grandfather; Alphonse White Man Left; sister Lacey Atwood and cousin Timmy White Man Left.
Robbie’s lifetime accomplishments did not lie in any meaningless materialism or any academic prestige, but, more so in the unconditional love that he had for his family and friends. He will be missed.
. A Family Service will be held on Friday, June 14th at Legacy Funeral Home from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m followed by the Wake Service at White Calf Hall, Standoff from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Saturday, June 15th, at 11:00 a.m.
