RONALD J. WOOLF, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Monday, March 16, 2020.
Ron was born July 12, 1944 in Cardston, Alberta to Homer and Fern Woolf of Hillspring. He helped his Dad farm, ran track for his high school, and played basketball as No. 23.
He graduated from Utah State University with a Masters of Science in Agricultural Economics. During this time he married his high school sweetheart, Judy K. Woolf.
He started his career in Regina, and soon moved to Olds where he worked as a District Agriculturalist for 21 years, finishing his career in Claresholm.
Ron served as Bishop in Olds, where he helped the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints fund and build their first chapel. He has also served in the Stake Presidency, as a Sunday School teacher, as a temple worker in the Cardston Temple, and as a missionary in the Addiction Recovery Program.
As a young man, Ron served a mission for his church in California and later served with his wife in Miramichi, Nova Scotia, where they helped support and develop a small branch and loved the people that they met there.
He loved gardening, family time, and travelling.. His mischievous smile and laugh endeared him to many, but especially his grandchildren, who loved his corny jokes and looked forward to telling him their own.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Woolf (Wynder); children, Rhonda (John) Lyons; Julie (Lawrnel) Harrison; Daron Woolf; Vicki (Rob) Hancock; Suzanne (Michael) Carlile; and Curtis (Amy) Woolf; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
