She travelled to Nashville to see the Grand Ole Opry, and Memphis Tennessee to see her forever love’s house in Graceland (Elvis Presley) stating “I could have lived here”.
A few of her greatest joys were to take the grandkids to pick choke cherries, saskatoon berries, mint, and bottle picking. Playing BINGO with her sisters Edna, Evangeline, Olive, Hazel, and her special sister Lena Russell (iikinanskii); still winning the big pots just days before her passing. She had a part in raising all her grand kids, and great grand kids, and was also a second mother to Tiff and Miss as she hand at raising them for most of their life.
She always told stories of her and her siblings’ younger years of when they would race horses and play wagon races in their bare feet (running through the thistles), and when travelling to Lethbridge by wagon with their dad they always had to do the figure eight and then they would take off. When racing with the horses they couldn’t finish playing until Jerry won a race.
The family would like to send their deepest appreciation and thanks to all the staff at Kainai Continuing Care Center for taking care of our mom, and grandma.
