Jerry Bruce Alcorn, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on Wednesday June 15, 2022, in Raymond at the age of 83 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife Mary; children, Shannon (Wayne), Sheryle, Jessie (Ian), Marsha (Kenneth), Trisha (Jonathan), Jeremy (Jeana); 31 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren; he was predeceased by his wife Marlene, son Bruce, son-in-law Jean-Pierre Ascione, and great grandsons Jax Vadnais, and Carson Eakett. Jerry was born in Harlem, Montana. He grew up in El Monte, California where he developed a love for sports and driving big trucks. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He went on to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Alaska/Western Canada Mission where he met the love of his life, Marlene. He continued playing/watching team sports and driving big trucks for the better part of 7 decades. He went on to write and publish books of his trucking and sports experiences and was in the process of writing a book of his missionary experiences at the time of his passing. Jerry lived his religion and he loved his family with all his heart. “My Father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.” A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Stirling on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 starting at 6:00 pm. Open mic and meet the family to follow. A private family graveside service took place on June 17, 2022 at the Raymond Temple Hill Cemetery. Due to allergies, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in support of Jerry's great grandson, 2 year old Greyson Eakett who is waiting for a heart transplant.
