RUTH BARTON of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at Park Meadows Good Samaritans with family at her side on January 11, 2022 at the age of 94.
She is survived by her children:Donna Woodman, Larry (Lana) Barton, Deb Weiterman, Louise (Joe) Szakal, LaRae deJager, Bill (Amanda) Barton, Susan (Lyndon) Henry, Shirley Battye.
Predeceased by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mom was born in Hillspring on September 21, 1927 and raised in the Hillspring area. She married Donald Barton in 1948 and started her family in 1949. She dedicated her early years to family as she raised 8 children in Lethbridge.
After retiring she moved back to Hillspring and looked after her mother until her passing.
In 2003 mom moved back to Lethbridge and lived on her own except for Willy her loved Yorkshire until shortly after her 90th birthday party.
She took a spill and broke her hip and elbow which caused her to be wheelchair bound. After this she moved into Park Meadows.
We would like to express our thanks to the staff and nurses for their kind and loving care given to mom during her stay there.
A Private Family service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hill Spring, Alberta on Monday, January 17th. Mom will be laid to rest in the Hillspring cemetery next to her family.
