NeWANA JEAN FINDLAY BERRY, passed away peacefully in the Cardston Hospital in Cardston, Alberta on December 27, 2022, at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her husband Mark, daughter Debra, son Bryant, granddaughter Tammy, and great-great grandson Riley.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Kathy Berry, daughters Charlean (David) McLachlan, Sheron (Paul) Doig, and Diana (Brock) Bevans. She is blessed with 19 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
NeWana was the oldest of 10 siblings: Telford (deceased), Edra (deceased), Avon (deceased), DeMoine, Claudia, Maralyn, Ron, Geraldine, Berneitta.
NeWana began her married life cooking at a logging camp. When logging closed for the season, Mark and NeWana moved into their home on the farm south of Cardston where they raised their family. In 2001, Mark and NeWana moved into Cardston.
NeWana drove the school bus when Mark was in the field working. She loved to be outside in nature, hiking, camping, & gardening. She loved the mountains and Old Chief was her favorite. When she was not outside you could find her doing genealogy, quilting, crocheting, knitting or putting together a jigsaw puzzle. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions both at the ward and the stake level. She loved the Temple and served there for many years. She also served as a member of several boards in the community.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,Temple Street Chapel, Cardston, AB., on Friday, December 30th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may meet the family on Friday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment in the Cardston Cemetery.
