Marjorie Lorna (Klingbell) Bevans was born October 19, 1940 in Beausejour Manitoba to William Klingbell and Evelyn Phyllis (Miller) Klingbell. Marge passed away June 9, 2026 in Cardston Alberta with her loving husband by her side. Marjorie was pre-deceased by her parents, her brothers Bill, Fred and George Klingbell.
Marjorie is survived by her loving husband Brent Bevans, their combined families of 10 children, 34 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter, Lilly. Marge is also survived by her twin brothers Edward and Elvin Klingbell.
Marge spent her early growing years in and around the Beausejour area. She remained there in her early adult life and went on to become a hair-dresser. She owned and operated her own Beauty Salon in Beausejour. The iconic building she owned and operated from, to this very day is a Beauty Salon, with living accommodations in the upstairs. She was so proud of her accomplishments there. In the years to follow, she returned many times to visit and reminisce with the owners and the customers.
It was here in Beausejour that two of her five children were born. Bryan and Brenda were to share with their mother many memories that each of them came to cherish through the years.
In the early 70’s, Marge came out west to eventually settle in the Cardston area. This is where she really found herself and settled permanently. She said many times that once she saw the mountains, she knew she was home. This is where she went on to develop her talents and love for life. This is where the next additions to her family came to be. Michael was an unexpected blessing she was forever grateful for. Marcia and Justin brought with them an unexpected flare of excitement to her life. She went on to become a great lover of the theatre and the world of costume creations. She tells that back in her earlier school days that she couldn’t abide the “organized” home-ec. courses for fledgling sewers, and simply had to break-out on her own.
Over the years, Marjorie has dedicated 45 years of service to the “Carriage House Theatre” world, as their costume specialist. Her favorite piece she ever created was the amazing techni-colored coat that Joseph wore in that production.
She also created over the years, countless wedding gowns, graduation dresses, formal gowns, and a multitude of other creations. Her motto regarding sewing possibilities was, “You’re only Limited by your Imaginations. If you can Imagine it, I can create it.”
She was a very accomplished artist. Her paintings, mainly scenic panoramas are priceless. Her favorite subject was our land mark, “Chief Mountain”.
Her greatest love and accomplishment was that of her family. When she found the love of her life, they together spent countless days, months and years cultivating meaningful relationships with their children, grandchildren and extended families. Music continues to be that binding force that holds our family together. Where relationships were tested throughout the years, together they stayed committed to rebuild what once was broken. To the very end, nothing was more important to Marjorie Lorna Bevans than her husband, kids and family.
Friends may meet the family on Sunday, June 14th, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston, or at the Church on Monday from 10:00 - 10:45 am, prior to the service.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Leavitt, Alberta on Monday, June 15th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment to follow in the Leavitt Cemetery.
