When you spoke I acted like I never heard.
Little did you know I heard every word.
The grind you stayed for years on end.
From pulling plows,or driving mom to her wits end.
Either way we loved you dear.
Taught me how to channel my fear.
Final good byes are hard at best.
I’ll take you on the road and lay you to rest.
Cowboys don’t cry was at least the best.
