In loving memory of RUSSELL JAY MAXWELL BIG THROAT, born June 6, 1984 in Cardston, Alberta, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2016 in Standoff, Alberta.
Russell is survived by his mother Pamela Big Throat; his stepdad Colin Many Fingers; his boyfriend Robert Provost; his sisters Eulalia (Travis), Sonya (Cammy), Lisa Marie, Amanda (Steven); his brother Nolin; special sisters Courteny, Andrea (Brent), Brittaney, Neddi, Mandi, Leejay, Casey, Randa, Lauren; his special son Nicholas Jay; nephews Josh, Zack, Charly, Lamar; nieces Jasmine, Victoria; special nephew Paisley Twigg; godson Charles Big Throat; his grandmothers Elizabeth Big Throat, Mae Weasel Fat; aunties Diane, Linda (Darrell), Nora (Roy), Betty, Wanda, Doris (Richard); uncle Henery (Roxanne); special aunts Christine Good Dagger, Adeline Young Pine.
Russell was known and loved by friends and relatives, living life to the fullest, spending time with family. He loved to laugh and joke with everyone he was with, as he was humble and kind with a heart of gold. Russell and his mother were close in heart, accompanying each other in most of their daily routines, along with his sister Lisa Marie. He had a close and special bond with each and every one of his aunties. He enjoyed starting his day by preparing coffee for everyone, ensuring his family’s needs were taken care of. He had a great mind and was everyone’s friend and loved and accepted others for who they were, remembering never to hold a grudge or mean thought about anyone, for Russell forgave and was forgiven.
Russell was known for his beauty and personality. He was well groomed inside and out, and that beauty was what people were attracted to. Helping out relatives emotionally and physically was common for him, as this brought him joy, knowing someone else was well taken care of and loved.
Russell adopted his newphew Nicholas Jay as an infant, and from then on Russell became his father, a role he proudly held. He provided all the necessities Nicholas needed. Russell found his true love with Robert, and they were inseparable and cared for each other.
He was predeceased by his father Maxwell Weasel Fat; his grandfather Horace Big Throat; sister Charly Big Throat; uncle Melvin Big Throat; Eugene Big Throat; Lindsay Aberdeen; and Aunt Catherine Rider.
He will be forever remembered and sadly missed.
The Wake Service will be at the Old Saipoyi Gym, Standoff, AB on Sunday, November 13th, 2016 from 7:00 pm continuing all night. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Monday, November 14th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
