Doreen Joyce Bird “Kiip” was born on November 19,1959 in Cardston, AB and passed away on March 11, 2026 in Moses Lake, at the age of 66 years old. 
Doreen was a loving and caring person, in her early years She loved to go for walks with her sisters Moreen Bird, Jessie Bird, and Doris Bird in the downtown area of Cardston, AB. And would just sit at the water fountain and talk for hours with her sisters, talked about life and sometimes loved to gossip there. As she got older she took in and raised two of her grandchildren Travis Bird and Shawn Bird and spent most of her time caring and loving them. Her last few months were spent with her brother Henry Bird (Rosemary Low Lorn) who let her live with them for the time she was alive.
Doreen is survived by her daughter Gale Bird, and son Douglas Iron Shirt (Laura Iron Shirt), grandchildren Sativa Rabbit (Trisston Shouting), Travis Bird (Chloe Singer), Mariah Crying Head, Shawn Bird, Cinda Bull Calf, Tyler Bird, Joan Bird, Mason Bird, Austin Bird, Jaylin Bird, Makayla Bird, Jayna Bird, Zach Bird, E.j Aberdeen, Stevie Bird, Ebony Bird, Javon Billedeaux. And her great-grandchildren Alia Bird, Noah Bird, Owen Rabbit, Eli Rabbit, Skye Bull Calf, and Abel Bull Calf. Doreen had numerous nieces and nephews who she loved and cared about tremendously. And cherished her adopted children as well Eleanor Bad Arm and her kids.
Doreen was predeceased by her parents Bill and Annie Bird,  husband Allen Bull Plume, and both of her children Jason Bird, Annie Bird, Aloysius J “Patches” Bull Plume, Crystal Bull Plume. Grandchild Levi McMaster, Jaslynn Bird. Her siblings Francis Bird, Doris Bird, Rex Bird, Winston Bird, Beulah Bird. She is also predeceased by her aunties, uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doreen will be deeply missed by all who loved and cared for her, especially her daughter Gale Bird, son Douglas Iron Shirt (Laura Iron Shirt), grandchildren, sisters Moreen, and Jessie, brothers Henry Bird (Rosemary), Gary bird (Joyce) and Wilfred Bird, and nieces, nephews, cousins. And her adopt family as well. 
We, the family of Doreen Joyce Bird  would like to thank you for coming to lay a beautiful loving soul to rest.
The family would like to apologize for any family or names that we missed.​


A Wake Service will be held at Moses Lake Community Hall, Blood Reserve, Alberta on Friday, March 27 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will also be held at Moses Lake Community Hall on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 am. The interment will follow in Blood Band Cemetery, Blood Reserve.
