Tia Lynn Blood ‘Aisspahko’miaakii’
(January 17, 1988 – October 24, 2022)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tia Lynn Blood on October 24, 2022 at the age of 34. She is survived and loved by her husband Paul Wright-Many Chief and two beautiful boys, Cade and Riker; daughter Sierra and grandson Andreas. Her mother, Marlene Mistaken Chief and father, Manuel Blood; her sisters, Wendelin (Eugene) Mistaken Chief, Lainey Blood, Cara (Lane) Blood; mother-in-law Mary Wright and father-in-law Ryan Many Chief. Tia had a special love for her niece Kaylyn, as Tia was her ‘Fairy GodMother’ and adored her nephews, Shace, Mason and Oberyn.
Tia was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was her world, and did everything for Paul and her sons. She maintained a loving and welcoming home for all who entered her door.
Tia was born in Lethbridge at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital and grew up in both Lethbridge and the Blood Reserve, Alberta. She attended St. Francis Jr. High, Catholic Central High School and went on to graduate with her Health Care Aide Certificate. She was attending Red Crow College to eventually become a nurse and continue taking care of others.
She enjoyed her surroundings and doing things that made her happy. She loved going on walks, working out at the gym, baking treats and was never afraid to venture to the mall to shop, most often checking out the cosmetics aisle.
Tia loved life and made a positive impact with every person that came into her path. She held a strong closeness with her parents and her sisters which they cherished every day. Not a day went by without a text or visit from her; always with her joking and teasing nature. She knew how to make them laugh and shared everything with them. Tia and her sisters had a tight-knit bond that she extended to her nieces and nephews. She loved them and made sure they knew how important and special they were to her.
Tia came from large families with lots of aunts, uncles and cousins who always shared laughs with her silliness because she was so fun to be around. She always greeted and left us with her beautiful smile. She loved to attend family events and at kids birthday parties she would always lend a helpful hand. Tia may have been late on occasion but it was well worth the wait.
Tia had the ability to brighten the room with her beautiful smile and laughter. She made people feel at ease and could easily make friends because people were drawn to her. With her loving nature, she not only gained friendships but was considered a sister to many. With Tia you did not have to see or talk to each other everyday and yet she would pick up with you wherever you left off. Sometimes she would leave a simple emoji or meme to continue a conversation with you without too many words. Tia’s openness and acceptance of people without judgement showed how much she saw the good in everyone.
The family would like to pay special mention of her dear friends Jennifer Many Bears, Shirley Big Swallow and Amber Day Chief; and a thank you to her numerous cousins as they worked together to ensure their girl had a beautiful farewell.
Tia was a sweet, loving, loyal, protective woman. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is also survived by her paternal aunts and uncles: Wilfred Blood, Charles (Rhonda) Blood, Dewey (Carolyn) Blood, Blaine Blood, JoAnne (Erik) Lemieux, Cynthia (Hiram Big Swan) Blood, Yolanda Eagle Tailfeathers; her great-great aunt Mary Steele. Her maternal aunts and uncles: Lottie Many Wounds, Larry Mistaken Chief, Carolyn (Dewey) Blood, John Mistaken Chief, Bruce Mistaken Chief and Steve Mistaken Chief.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Alfred and Lucy Blood, and her maternal grandparents Stephen and Elsie Mistaken Chief; her paternal aunts and uncles: Narcisse Blood Sr., Violet Bouvier, Hilda Yellow Wings, Janet Blood, Henry Blood, Beverly Little Light and Donald Blood; her maternal aunts and uncles: Beatrice One Spot, Marie Soosay, Alfreda Mistaken Chief, Richard Mistaken Chief and Debbie Mistaken Chief.
The Wake Service will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 7:00 - 11:00 pm at White Calf Hall, Stand Off, AB. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve, AB. on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11:00 am with Father Pawel Andrasz officiating. Interment to follow at the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
