Abigail was born on June 30, 2011 to her loving parents, Kelvin Brewer and Tobi Callihoo. Her birth brought much excitement to her large extended family. Because Abigail was the firstborn to Kelvin, his parents, Raymond and Veronica were overcome with joy to see that their youngest son had finally become a dad. Ray and Veronica instantly made Abigail their baby and hence began their role as her second-parents to Abi, whom she would lovingly refer to them as mom and dad. Ray and Veronica doted on her and loved to spoil her, catering to her every need. They, in spite of being at a later stage of life, did not hesitate and relish in their role as mom and dad to Abigail. It would be to no one’s surprise to see them often at Park Place mall, Lethbridge, where Abigail would be on one of her shopping sprees. Ray and Veronica would be patiently trailing behind her as Abigail went store to store. It would be an understatement to say that Abigail had Ray and Veronica wrapped around her little finger. There wasn’t anything that they wouldn’t do for her, they did everything for her.
Although Abigail resided primarily with Ray and Veronica, she often went to visit at her mom and dad’s home, where she loved to spend time with her siblings, whom she was extremely close to and loved with all her heart. Abigail and the twins, Leighton and Aaron would get into many silly, playful shenanigans. Their older brother, Jory would always keep a watchful and protective eye on them making sure they didn’t get to out of hand. Abigail adored and was very protective of her baby sisters, Kariza and Raya. Abigail had a unique bond with her aunty, Melissa who was like a third Mom to her.
Abigail loved both sides of her family and she had a special connection with each of her aunties, uncles and cousins. Each had a story and special memory of Abigail that we will cherish forever.
Abigail loved shopping, Music, her kitties, spending time with family and friends and traveling but most of all she loved her parents and grandparents.
Abigail attended Cardston Elementary School, Saipoyi School and Tatsikiisaapo’p School. It is there that she formed many friendships with her classmates and teachers.
Since the day she was born, Abigail’s presence has been a source of comfort and happiness to family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart and bright smile. She had the ability to light up the room she entered. She always knew how to make a person feel special and valued no matter your age. She had a bubbly personality with an infectious giggle. Her one liners “Shut up Orland” and “What the Frick!” will be forever remembered and engraved in our hearts. Although Abigail’s life here on this world was short, she left us with a lifetime of memories that we will cherish forever and will never forget the time that we had with our dear sweet “Abi-girl”.
A Wake Service will be held at the Tanner Center, Cardston (260 1 St W), on Wednesday, May 22 from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Tanner Center on Thursday, May 23 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Brewer Family Cemetery, Blood Reserve.
