MARY LOUISE BULLSHIELDS (Napiakii) beloved daughter of Doreen Marie Crow Bull Shields passed away in Lethbridge Alberta on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the age of 39.
Mary is survived by her mother Doreen, father Barry Long Time Squirrel, her children Lonnie Bull Shields Jr., Lena Bull Shields, Leah Bull Shields, Kaia Bull Shields, Barbra Rose Bull Shields, Isaiah Shepard, brothers Peter Bull Shields and children, Melvin SpearChief, Jordan BullShields, sister Lynne Marshalsay, aunt Rachel CrowSpreadingWings and children, uncles Richard Bull Shields Sr. and children, David Bull Shields and children, Morris Crow Jr. and son, Robert Crow, Allen Crow, grandmother Lynne Crow, great uncles Dale Low Horn and children, Calvin Crow and children, Theresa Messenger, Lester Crow and children, great aunts Theresa Vielle and children, Rosie Reyes and children, adopted grandfather James Bernard Bearshirt and children, adopted sister Darlene Windigo (Gordon SpearChief) and children; special cousins, Kyla Crow, Roberta Calf Robe, Bonnie Calf Robe, Stephanie Calf Robe and Sunshine Weasel Moccasin; and her best friends Purnell Bruised Head and Lloyd Baird.
Mary lived in Lethbridge for most of her life. As a young girl Mary was actively involved in her grandfather’s Morris Crow Sr.’s sundance. She received her education in Lethbridge. She was known to have a heart of gold, a shining smile, and a contagious laugh that would lift the spirits of those around her. Mary had many friends that will miss her dearly.
Mary was preceded in death by her brother Lonnie Bull Shields Sr.(2008), grandfather Morris Crow Sr. (2006), grandmother Lena Bull Shields (1973), and Mervin Vielle (husband). Her extended family includes the Calf Robes, Scouts, McDonald's, Eagle Childs, Bull Shields, Mills, CrowSpreadingWings, Bull Childs. The family apologies for any families missed
The Funeral Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, September 4th at 11:00 a.m with a viewing from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. It will be live streamed for those who cannot attend due to distance and/or Covid restrictions. A memorial and feast will be held at a later date to be announced at Streets Alive. Interment in the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
