ALLEN GARTH CAMPBELL, beloved husband of Anna Magda of Hill Spring, Alberta passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the age of 90.
Friends and family are invited to meet the family at Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston on Friday, November 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A family graveside service will be held in the Hill Spring Cemetery at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 16, following interment, friends and family are welcome to attend a celebration of his life starting at 11:30 am at the LDS Church in Hill Spring.
Allen was predeceased by his eternal sweetheart, Anna, who passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic in September 2020. He was also predeceased by his parents William (Bill) & Elna (Bohne) Campbell and siblings Walton (Phaedra) Campbell, David Campbell and Blaine Campbell and sisters, Ruth Barton, Jean (Garth) Forsyth and Flora Lee as well as brother-in-law Laverne Hummelle of Kimberly, BC and sister-in-law Wendy Campbell of Raymond.
Allen is survived by all of his children: Robert (Pat) Campbell of Hill Spring, Vicky (Nolen) Olsen of Mountain View, Judy (Brandon) Smith of Lethbridge, Donna (Dean) Seely of Stirling and Darren (Rita) Campbell of Cardston as well as 19 Grandchildren, 68 Great-Grandchildren and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren as well as two sisters-in-law Nonavee, wife of his brother Dave Campbell and Glenda. wife of his brother Blaine Campbell, and siblings, Colleen Hummelle of Kimberly, BC, Darrel Campbell (Edith) of Raymond, Wendell (Debbie) Campbell of Lethbridge.
Allen attended his formal schooling in Hill Spring followed by employment adventures that took him to Vancouver, BC where he sold shoes, then back to Alberta to work for Calgary Power, during which time he met, courted and later married a cute little waitress (Anna Magda) who he met in a little café in Brooks. Allen and Anna started married life in a little travel trailer in Olds and after a couple of moves ended up in Cardston, Alberta. A year and a half later they welcomed their first child and the rest is history. Allen completed high school and earned certification in Steam Engineering to work as an operator at the Gulf Gas Plant near Hill Spring until he took early retirement in 2001. He has worked hard throughout his life, building fireplaces, trucking with his sons, purchasing and operating the Hill Spring Supply Co. and finally, crafting wooden tables, walking sticks and other assorted items into his 91st year, right up to his passing. He was a man of utmost integrity, he is adored by his family and loved by those who knew him. He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather and friend, a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who served whenever and wherever he was called. For nearly 20 years, he devoted all of his time and efforts to the care of his sweetheart, into whose arms he now resides.
