Lester Malcom (Kim) Campbell passed away on April 22, 2026, in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 80. Kim was born on August 25, 1945, to Lester and Wilma Campbell and raised on the family farm in Jefferson, AB.
Kim was raised in a home where education and hard work were important. His dad taught him about farming, and his mom inspired him as a teacher. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in France. This experience taught him many things and allowed him to help his children pass French class in school.
He attended BYU for his post-secondary education and during that time he reluctantly went to a New Year’s Eve dance and met the love of his life. Kim and Verla (Greene) were married in the Cardston Temple on Nov. 28, 1970, and started their life together.
Kim followed in his mother's footsteps and became a teacher. After teaching in a grade one class and catching the mumps twice he knew he needed to take another path in education. He got his job in Lloydminster, AB, where he started a family and a career at LCHS High School. He taught for over thirty years and inspired many people. He taught agriculture and many other subjects with humor and love. He also was able to judge the 4-H programs and help the future farmers.
When he retired, he finally had to move away as they kept calling him back to teach. Kim and Verla returned to their roots and settled back in Cardston, AB. Kim was able to be back near the family farm and help wherever he could. He had a love for motorcycles, fishing, his Corvette, and especially his family. He would do anything for his family and loved spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Verla and his three children. Carrie Kim of Lethbridge, Chad Allen (Kathy) of Calgary, and Douglas Kent (Ashley) of Taber. He also is survived by his grandchildren: Emily, Jude, Cooper and Sophie. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
