BRENT CHIEF BODY - “Naatoy sikimioh kitopi” passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on August 14 at the age of 64. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years Sherry; sons Clayton and Cameron (Shirley); daughters Shawnee Little Mustache, Jessie. Jenny (Tyson) Scout; his special girls Phoenix, Tyra and Victoria; sisters Lorraine, Jennifer (Dale) and Lorraine Black Water; brothers Brian and Arnold Healy, Rob Flammond; brothers-in-law Clint and Brett Johnson. 16 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. And of course his constant companions Chili and Bo. Uncles Gilbert and Del Healy, William (Betty) Alex and David Mills. Aunts Bella (Bart) Fern Lila and Jessalyn Healy. Judy and Faye Mills.
Brent was predeceased by his parents Victor and Louise Chief Body. Brothers Frank Alfred and Randy (Sally) Guy Red Crane, Sisters Odile (Eddy) Shouting, Gabrielle (Tini) and Ruby Ann. Grand Parents Joe and Kate (Nee Wolf Sitting Down) Chief Body. Arthur and Betty Healy, Marie Bumblebee and William Mills Sr., father and mother-in-law Rex and Joan Johnson.
Brent was a hard worker all his life. By the age of 10 he was helping his dad farming. When Brent and Shirley started a family, they moved to Lethbridge where he worked construction. In the early 80’s Brent and his dad started a trucking company. In 1986 Brent, Sherry and family moved to Vancouver then Victoria where he went into installing floors. After 7 years they returned home and contracted for the Blood Tribe Housing, a pivotal part of establishing Blackfoot Grill.
He was an avid golfer, picking up the sport while living in Vancouver with his friend Rocky Terry. When Brent returned home, He introduced a lot of his friends to golf and the rest is history. He always enjoyed Wednesday night golf with his friends Fred, Winston, Pierre, Husky, Rick, Todd, Hubba, Rex and the late John Heavy Shields, Tommy Many Fingers and Leonard Old Shoes, and anyone who cared to join. Brent will be sadly missed at the golf course.
To all his friends at the restaurant that he visited with, he enjoyed his time with you especially talking about old times. Brent made friends wherever he went from all walks of life. He was especially close to all his nieces and nephews. Sherry’s family was also an important part of his life. He will be missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who helped Brent on his journey. Dr. Gordon Hunt who was there in the beginning, Dr. Esther Tailfeathers and Dr. Aaron Low who was with him at the end. He always appreciated all the work everyone put into helping him.
