Fabian “Jack” Leon Chief Body “Iskstookiisoo”
August 31, 1977 – April 29, 2025

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fabian “Jack” Leon Chief Body, lovingly known by his traditional name Iskstookiisoo. Jack was born on August 31, 1977, in Lethbridge, Alberta, to Edward Morning Owl and Lorraine Chief Body, he passed away on April 29th, 2025 surrounded by his friends and family. He was also proudly raised by his uncle and aunt, Brent and Sherry Chief Body, whom he considered parents. He was predeceased by his parents Lorraine Chief Body and Edward Cole Morning Owl. His adoptive father Brent Chief Body. Maternal Grandparents Victor and Louise Chief Body.  Great Grandparents Joe and Kate Chief Body, Art and Betty Healy Sr.; Marie Bumblebee and William Mills Sr. Paternal Grandparent; Tom and Lillian Morning Owl, Great Grandparents Jack and Jean Bellows.  As well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins on each side of the Chief Body/Healy and Morning Owl/Bellows Family.
As a child, Jack was outgoing and adventurous, often found at the local arcades playing video games and making friends with everyone he met. He attended several elementary schools before settling at Coalhurst Elementary, eventually graduating from Coalhurst High School. Even before graduation, at the age of 16, he became a proud father to his first son, Costas Beebe–Chief Body, with his first wife, Kristy Beebe.
Jack went on to attend Red Crow College, during which he welcomed his second son, Fabian Chief Body. In 1998, he became a father again to his daughter, Sacha Chief Body. Jack remained in Coalhurst for several years, working various jobs and spending time in Hobbema (now Maskwacis), central Alberta.
Jack was known for his incredible work ethic, which he often credited to his grandfather, who woke him early as a child to help with ranch work. He later worked for Blood Tribe Education, contributing in the school kitchen and coaching youth sports teams, particularly soccer—something he took great pride in.  During this time, he sat on a chief and Council youth group where he shared many ideas and solutions to help his community.
In pursuit of new challenges, Jack began a career in truck driving. His time on the road took him across 48 U.S. states, except for Hawaii and Alaska. Along the way, he collected countless stories—from UFO sightings to being robbed at gunpoint—which he enthusiastically shared with friends and family.
In 2009, Jack chose to refocus his life toward helping others and enrolled at the Riel Institute, earning his Social Work Certification through NAIT with honors, He graduated as Valedictorian of his class in June 2010, a moment of great pride. maintaining a perfect GPA. His passion for supporting youth led him to help establish and manage the UNITED (Understanding Native Integrity Through Experiential development) Program, he worked at WOODS homes as a youth support worker and helped Nohkohwaa Family and Youth Centre open their doors, on May 1, 2020, a role he cherished deeply.  He returned to Nohkohwaa Family and Youth Centre early February 2025.
Of all his many roles—he was most proud of the love he gave to his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Whenever he would talk about his grandchildren his eye would brighten up with pure love. Jack is survived by his children: Costas (Ayla), Fabian, Sasha Chief Body-Beebe. Grandsons: Myles and Giovanni; Granddaughters: Catalaya, Ivy, Anastasia and Ellie. Partner: Karen English (Tayva and Traeton)  Siblings: Shawn (Crystal), Cissy (Lee), Stacy, Panda, Jo-Jo, Darcy, Faith (Jason), Fernando (Olivia), Tanya, Darwin (Marley). Adopted brothers: Jeremy Fox, Ben Bultsma and Rob Styra. As well as his neices: Jessica, Adessa and Tessa: Nephews: Tyler (Courtney), Corey, Joey, Josh, Sheldon, Desmond, Isaiah, Allan (Shelbe), Cyles (Latisha), Jaimus (Pika), and the mother of his children, Kristy Beebe. He also leaves behind countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family. Jack will be remembered for his quick wit, his infectious laugh, his unmatched style, and his deep love for his family. He loved playing pool, watching old kung-fu movies, classic wrestling, conspiracy documentaries, surfer videos, and powwow dancing.
His legacy is one of resilience, laughter, love, and community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.


A family service will be held at Noon on Friday May 9, 2025 at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston. A 24 hr. wake service will be held at 5217 3rd Street, Coalhurst, Alberta on Friday, May 9th, 2025 starting at 2:00 pm. Cremation will take place after the wake.
