SUNNY ANNETTE (IRVING) CRANE, beloved wife of Walter Crane passed away peacefully in her sleep in Cardston, Alberta on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 84 years.
Sunny is survived by 3 siblings: Verna (Leon) Sallenback of Lethbridge, Donna Grunewald of Courtenay BC, Barilyn Irving Sopel of Taber, Seven Children, twenty grandchildren, and 8 (soon to be 9) great-grandchildren.
She was raised in Barnwell Alberta on a farm by a loving family that taught her Christian values and hard work. Prior to raising her own family, Sunny worked for several years in the Lethbridge hospital nursery attending to the new babies and instructing new mothers on their care and feeding. She would often tell her children of her experiences working in the hospital.
Sunny was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Her passion was Genealogy as well as working in the Temple. In 1962 she was called to serve an 18 month mission to Southern California. Upon her return, she continued her education in Business College where her favorite subject was business mathematics.
Sunny was always kind to others and those who knew her remember her with fondness. She loved children, and raised a family of seven. David (LeAnne) of Calgary, Stephen (Calena) of Meridian Idaho, Linda (Steve) Ouwerkerk of Calgary, Shari (Richard) Loveday of Victoria, Trevor (Diane) of Great Falls, Del (Peter Loewen) of Surrey BC, and Lisa Crane of Cardston.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing Thursday, Oct 14 from 7:00-8:00 pm or Friday Oct 15th from 9-10 am at the Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston.
A private Family Service will be held Friday, Oct 15 at 11:00am and will be available via live streaming to all who wish to participate. Interment will follow at the Cardston Cemetery for any who wish to join.
