Cary Lance was adopted by his grandparents, Mary & Arthur White Quills, at the tender age of two years old. He was a minii‘pokaa or kipitáípokaa, and was familiar with our traditional ways, language and traditional values. Mattsistá'noawa was transferred into the Okan at four years old, from then on, he would be at the Horn comrades Mamiá’tsikimiksi sweats and big smoke ceremonies with his grandparents.
At a very young age Cary did things for himself, he could barely reach the top of the stove cooking himself scrambled eggs, put Vicks all over his face when he had a cold, as a young boy Cary started driving, and he became very interested in fixing vehicles, which became one of his hobbies.
The happiest days of Cary’s life was when he became a daddy on December 7, 2004 when his baby girl Sierra Nova was born. She had him wrapped around his finger. When it was time to go home he took her around to meet the whole gang. Happiness grew more for his little family when his baby boy Nevada was born December 23, 2009 hoping for a Christmas baby. He always said “my boy is my special Christmas gift I don’t need presents I was sent my son” Cary loves his kids very much he did everything and anything for them they created many memories and cherished times together from all the cool cruising, family trips and fun things at home.
Cary had a passion for vehicles he loved his Chevy trucks n Nova car so much he named his baby girl “Sierra Nova” you can see his yard full of all the classics from used to new. Once he gets his hands on a beautiful vehicle, he’ll cherish n fix it up to the 9s making it look all shiny n good looking. Teaching July all the simple things of a vehicle to pulling out motors and all the extra extreme stuff he was proud of his brother when he accomplished a task like he was proud of his teachings.
Cary was a person whom everyone loved to hang out with, he was very caring and humble. All his friends loved to hear his stories of the good times when we all hung out together. Love you brother, Rest in Peace. Ernest DC.
Cary was the type of person who would give you the jacket on his back or his last $20 bucks. Loved giving that helping hand to many including family, friends and people he never met before he had a true heart of gold. His best friends in life were the Day Chief boys who were more like brothers, late Lubby, Tracy, Kelly, Wayne, Pookie, Ernest and many more.He was a long time dedicated employee of Chief Construction always ready to go when duty calls. He loved working and providing for his little family. He often gave that helping hand or taught “the new guy” few tricks and importance of the jobs. He loved the working at the “Mine” the most. His favourite thing to do was go climbing up and down those steep hills out at the Mine. Cary worked with Chief Construction’s Contracting LTD as a heavy equipment operator for several years until he got sick. Cary was king cruise he can never just stay home. He loved to just get in and go never knowing where you’ll end up it will either be somewhere beautiful in the mountains or long fun adventure with the music blasting and the joints blazing.
A lot of people knew Cary, he was always friendly, smiling and helpful. Cary learned how to drive a bobcat when he worked with his uncle Ivan. After his grandparents passed, he didn’t depend on anyone, he did everything on his own. He also took pride in his house, yard and vehicle(s)
