It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our loving sister Charmaine “Apannii Akkii – Butterfly Girl” Flora Crow Chief at 21 years of age, in Lethbridge Alberta on November 11, 2023.
Charmaine is mourned by her boyfriend Trendon Red Crow, her parents – Shirley Eli and Rodney Crow Chief, and her Adopted parents, Kloudie and James Eagle Child. Her siblings, Owen (Anna) Eli, Aaron Eli, Chase (Nitraera) Crow Chief, Karisma (Beyron) Crow Chief, Trinity (AJ) Many Bears, Shaunteya (River) Eagle Child, Nakoda Eagle Child, and Monty Bad Arm. Her niece and nephews, Kilo Good Dagger, Adam Crow Chief, Radsin Crow Chief, Conrad Big Sorrel Horse, and Owen Eli- Crow Chief, Dayton, Rhiatt, Serenity and Sariah Many Bears. Her uncles and aunts, Allen Eli, Ivan Eli, Gloria Eli, Elliot Crow Chief, Edwin Crow Chief, Kevin Crow Chief, Marilee Mistaken Chief, and Rhea (David) Crow Chief. Her great aunts and uncles, Corinna Crow Chief, Georgina Medicine Crane, Dwayne, and Wilma Crow Chief, William and Carma Crow Chief, and Patrick Crow Chief. Her god parents, Gaylene Sweetgrass and Matthew Crow Chief. Her cousins, Ashla Eli, AJ Mistaken Chief, Candance Big Swan, and AJ Brave Rock. Her sponsor and good friend Cory Reynolds.
Charmaine was predeceased by her grandparents, Floyd and Maryanne Eli, Rose Crow Chief and George Plain Woman. Her uncles and aunt, Franklin Crow Chief, Kenneth Crow Chief, Tom Crow Chief, and Alfreda Crow Chief. Her cousins Tiffany Crow Chief, Kirby Crow Chief, Samantha Crow Chief, James Eli, Kenneth Crow Chief, Levi Eli, Tanis Eli, Baby Dale Eli, and Deliah Big Sorrel Horse.
Charmaine was born at Lethbridge Regional Hospital, on June 26th, 2002. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was three years old. She attended Saipoyi Elementary and G.R Davis in Fort Macleod. She also attended Kainai Alternate High School. She then moved to Good Fish where she met her mentor, Rick Rosiechuck and attended Vilna High School. Charmaine loved animals she had many fur babies, Happy, Sparkles, Chloe, Beatrice, and Smokey. She also found joy in riding horses; she loved her horse Never Night. She enjoyed listening to music and nature. She was a very good artist and loved drawing and painting. Charmaine also enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved visiting with friends and family, mainly her sister Karisma and her brother, Chase. Charmaine enjoyed her time spent taking walks with her dad and the time they had together.
Charmaine has many relatives which included, Eli, Crow Chief, Wolf Tail, Black Plume, Wells, Scout, Plain Women, Williams, Black Rabbit, Knife, Long Time Squirrel, Brave Rock, Aberdeen, Tailfeather, Wadsworth, Vielle, Mills, Brewer; King, Bad Arm, Davis and Meat Face.

A Wake Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Friday, November 24, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will also be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment to take place at St. Catherine’s Cemetery. Feast to follow the burial at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve.
