Clinton Crow Chief, Piinaaw, was born on the Blood Reserve on April 17, 1960, to Charlie Crow Chief and Della Tallow.
Clinton is survived by his daughters Anna and Crystal Crow Chief, his grandchildren Jersey, Conroy, Ethan, Leon, Storm, Sernomus , Seth, Draden, Radison, Conrad and his baby Owen.
He is also survived by his siblings Calvin (Geraldin) Crow Chief, Trina (Bruce) Iron Shirt and baby sister Charlotte Josephine Tallow.  His sister-in-law Doreen Yellow Wings and Andrew Bull Calf and Delores Bull Calf.  His nephews and nieces Jason, Josephine, Monty, Lance, Darcey, Preston, Tamara, Joey, Stacy, Carlos, Lyle, Zoe and Jada.  His God-Daughter Stacy Iron Shirt and also Betty Crow Chief.  His special cousins who he considered as his brothers and sister’s Maternal side: Glen Oka, Alvin Red Crow, Cameron & John Tallow, Roy Jr., Ronald & Rudy Tallow, Delphine Pipestem, Vera Oka, Carrie Black Plume, Debbie Many Bear, Tina Tallow and Audrey Tallow.  Paternal side:  Georgina Medicine Crane, William, Duane & Corrina Crow Chief, Joanne Scout, Myrna, Bernice & Tina Crow Chief, Glenda & Noreen Bull Shields, Verda Weasel Head, Debbie Black Water & Lewis Little Bear.  His extended family members Crow Chief, Vielle, Tallow, Willows, Heavy Heads and Kings.
Clinton was predeceased by his loving children Delia and Corey and granddaughter Letisha and his parents Charlie and Della.
 
Clinton was known for his caring and supportive nature, his jokes and laughter and always being a genuine brother to all.  Most of all Clinton was the only one who made Dad laugh.
Clinton worked many jobs, including construction, mechanic, horse trainer, jockey, apple picking, roofing, carpentry and then finding his interest in carpentry, which employed him for many years with B.T. Housing.
In Clinton’s younger years, when dad was into horse racing, he was the assistant trainer and jockey, they spent many hours horsing around with Miss Tommy Sims.  One time while dismounting Miss Tommy Sims, they accidentally butt heads and gave Clinton a black eye.
Clinton loved to drink milk and because he preferred to drink milk, Dad had to walk to his sister May’s to get a can of milk for him, he was so special to dad.
 
Clinton & Victoria met in 1980 and began their journey together, they had 4 beautiful children, 3 girls and 1 boy.  When they began having grandchildren, both Clinton & Victoria decided to raise and nurture their grandchildren together.
When Clinton and Victoria met, they were both cross country runners and they both participated in the annual Track & Fields. Clinton also participated in the 10-mile road race with his brother-in -law Bruce in Lethbridge, Peter Big Head was there cheering and encouraging both to complete the race. While Clinton attended St. Mary’s High School, played with the St. Mary’s Warrior and won Most Valuable Player the year he played on team.
Clinton other interest while growing up include hunting, fishing, trapping and enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with dad, Uncle Roy and baby sister Charlotte.
Clinton & Victoria decided to join the Sacred Society, their children were their caregivers and proud to take care of the camp at Sundance while their parents were busy with ceremonies.
Clinton was close to his brother-in-law Stanley Big Sorrel Horse, Stanley always welcomed Clinton into his home and days when they cruised together
 
Clinton spoke fluent high Blackfoot and will be missed by our family, he spoke to us in Blackfoot only, no English.  Always reminded us that our language is important and more meaningful.  Visiting with Clinton was always filled with laughter, speaking in Blackfoot which made his stories interesting on how powerful our language is and comical which made stories even funnier.
Clinton was always happy and glad to see his relatives and didn’t hesitate to stop and have a good visit with much laugher.
Clinton was unique, he didn’t try to impress anyone he was himself in everyway, a good-hearted man.
 
Clinton was also predeceased by his older brother Leonard Crow Chief, Paternal Grandparents:  Pokaanikapi Joe Crow Chief and Sisiina Cecile Vielle and Maternal Grandparents:  Mark Tallow,  Helen (nee Willows) & Henry Cochrane and by all his uncles and aunties. Paternal Uncles and Aunties: Wallace (Mary) Crow Chief, May (Ralph) Bottle, Isaac (Elizabeth) Crow Chief, Gilbert (Barbara) Crow Chief, Louis (Rosaline) Crow Chief and Gail Crow Chief.  Maternal Uncle & Aunties, Josephine (Wallace) Oka, Dinah (Alred) Red Crow, Queenie (Morris) Shouting, Cecile (May) Tallow, Roy (Pauline) Tallow, and Rosaline (Louis) Crow Chief.
What a glorious reunion Clinton had being reunited with all his loved ones.

A Wake Service will be held at  Lavern Community Hall, Blood Reserve on Wednesday, April 8 from 7:00 - 11:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, Blood Reserve on Thursday, April 9 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at the family plot.
