Clinton “Cory” Crow Chief (Ikinohkitopi - Gentle Rider), was born on August 28th, 1984 at Cardston, Alberta. He passed away on February 6th, 2025 in Fort Macleod, Alberta. He was 40 years old.
Cory was kind to everyone. He treated people the way they would want to be treated. He was an example of respect for himself and his family. He was also very protective of his younger family members including his sisters and younger cousins. He was a role model for his younger family and friends. He also helped to raise his younger nephews and nieces. Cory was a cross-country runner and had a love for horses. He was also a firefighter. Cory’s parents were in the Sacred Horn Society and he was one of the biggest helpers at the Aako’katssin (Sundance) where he helped many, set up many tipis for the big camp. Cory was an avid guitar player and loved to play for his late grandmother, Beatrice and his mother, Victoria. Cory is survived by his parents, Victoria Big Sorrel Horse and Clinton Crow Chief. His sisters, Anna and Crystal Crow Chief. His nephews: Conrad Big Sorrel Horse, George Eli, Conroy Eagle Child, Cernous Weasel Fat, Seth Crow Chief, Drayden Weasel Fat, Ethan Big Sorrel Horse and Leon Eagle Child; his nieces: Jersey Eagle Child, Della Crow Chief, Storm Eagle Child, and Victoria Crow Chief. His maternal uncles and aunties: Stanley Big Sorrel Horse, Shelley Big Sorrel Horse, Sherri Big Sorrel Horse, Ivy Big Sorrel Horse and Kurt (Jackie) Big Sorrel Horse. His paternal uncles and aunties: Calvin (Geraldine) Crow Chief, Trina (Bruce) Iron Shirt, and Charlotte Tallow. Cory was predeceased by his sister, Delia Crow Chief and his niece, Letisha Crow Chief. His maternal grandparents, Gilbert & Beatrice Big Sorrel Horse and his paternal grandmother, Della Tallow. And, just recently his grandfather, Charlie Crow Chief. He was also predeceased by his uncle Gilbert Jr. Big Sorrel Horse; auntie Louise Big Sorrel Horse. His great uncles and aunties: Jack and Gloria Red Crow, Peter Big Head, Melvin and Lucius Wadsworth, Delbert Tallow, Brenda Big Sorrel Horse and Delores Hairy Bull and his great-great grandmother, Helen Cochrane (Mamipiitaakii). His relatives include the Big Sorrel Horses, Scouts, Ryders, Big Heads, Prairie Chickens, Spear Chiefs, Willows, Black Waters, Eagle Bears, Tallows, Vielles, Wadsworths, Davis’, the Eli family and many more. A wake service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, Alberta on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 6:00 - 11:00 pm. A funeral service will also be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Friday, February 21 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Crow Chief Family Cemetery, Blood Reserve.
