It is with Heavy hearts and Great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dearly loved brother, son, nephew, father, cousin, friend, Todd Benjamin Crying Head (Tsinna’sokomapi), in Calgary on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Todd was born on July 5, 1991 to Arnold and the late Clara Crying Head. He was the youngest and the baby of the family. Todd is survived by his children Alfreda, Stanley and Benjamin Small Eyes.
Todd is also survived by his sister’s; Charlene (Cisco) Gros Ventre Boy, Lana (Rod) Crying Head and brother Ruben Crying Head. After his mother’s passing Todd was only 10 years old and was raised by his sister Charlene. Even as a young toddler Todd followed his sister everywhere and had to do everything like her. Todd was raised with so much love and tender care.
Todd was adopted by Barnabas and Shirley Tallman and family; Ashley Prairie Chicken, Jonathon Tallman, Paul Tallman, Austin Little Shields, Rozalyn Prairie Chicken, Shavon Big Throat, Isaiah Crazy Bull and special nephew Niclas Tallman.
Barnabas took Todd under his wing and taught him Carpentry, Farm work, cattle ranching and he did swathing and baling. Barnabas also spiritually mentored Todd. Barnabas blessed Todd with his Indian name by combining his two great-grandfather’s names and came up with Tsinna’sokomapi. Todd traveled with him all over to pow-wow and was learning to drum and sing.
Todd referred to Shirley as Mom and shared many precious memories with her that she will cherish and miss. Shirley recalls him watching movies with her and just visiting and sharing stories with her.
Todd also assisted Joe Eagle Tail Feathers at his Sundance, he was the fire keeper and Joe greatly depended on him. Todd enjoyed his experience there and made many friends with people all over the north. He enjoyed learning the sacred ways. Todd was very depended on and reliable.
At the time of his passing he was residing in Calgary, and was employed with Krown Produce, he was looking into enrolling into SAIT to become an Automotive Technician. He was so excited about his future endeavors.
Todd made friends wherever he went; he had a way about him that made anyone feel comfortable. He was such a loving, caring and down to earth kind of person. It came easy for him to put a smile on your face and make you chuckle with his funny personality. He loved to tell stories and always had an ear to listen.
Todd has made his journey home to be joined with his family who have gone before him.
