Tyson Jagger Devine, beloved son of Elaine Hairy Bull and Troy Devine passed away in St. Paul’s on November 26, 2020 at the age of 16 years old. Tyson is the youngest of his siblings and was accepted by all that knew him. He was known to be the life of any gathering and he always made sure that everyone felt included in anything that they were doing.
Tyson was born at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta on March 23, 2004 and was welcomes into the world by his grandparents, parents, and his extended family. Tyson was the baby of the family and was adored by all his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tyson had the ability to make a room burst with laughter with his charisma and charm. He was often found hanging out with his cousins, joking and laughing with them. His nickname was Giselle, because Elaine really wanted a girl and it just stuck throughout his childhood. He would always laugh when someone called “Giselle”, but he didn’t correct them because he was always willing to joke around and laugh.
Tyson attended Levern and Cardston Elementary school, and Tatsikiisaapo’p Middle School on the Blood Reserve. He enjoyed playing organized sports, like hockey, and playing recreational games with his close cousins. Tyson was the proud uncle to Uriel. They had one of those “uncle-nephew” relationships where Tyson loved his nephew and Uriel liked to compete with Tyson for his grandma’s attention. It was well known that Tyson had a strong relationship with his mom, and he made sure everyone knew that Elaine was his favourite person. Tyson had so much love for his mom and his aunts, and his family. He was especially close to his uncle TJ. Tyson looked up to his uncle and their shared a strong bond. His best friends were his cousins on both sides of his family. He spent a lot of time at his grandpa Jordan’s house with Dayzlan, Jadin and Tye. They were often found fooling around on social media recording themselves singing or just laughing. He also spent a lot of time with his cousins Tito and Kenyon from his Devine family. We have a saying in our families because of the close relationships that exist among the cousins; “We don’t have friends, we have cousins”
Tyson is survived by his parents Elaine Hairy Bull and Troy Devine, his maternal grandfather Jordan Gros Ventre Boy, adopted maternal grandmothers Joyce Gros Ventre Boy and Paula Healy, his paternal grandparents Agnes Devine and Rick Prairie Chicken, his brothers: Keyshawn, Bailey (Gerrylyn), Tyreese (Josie Little Shields) Hind Bull, Trevor (Elayna) Gros Ventre Boy; sisters: Brooklyn BP, and Jadin Hind Bull, his nephew Ariel Devine and niece Ameera Little Shields; his aunts: Vanessa (Denver T) Hind Bull, Tamara, Eleanor Bad Arm, Wanda Gros Ventre Boy, Twyla Devine, Cydnee Devine, Dana (Barry B) BSH; uncles: Garrett BSH, Rufus (Pam) Gros Ventre Boy, Meldum ( Chasity) Gros Ventre Boy, Scotty Gros Ventre Boy, and TJ (Megan) Devine; Great aunts and uncles: Francis (Ed) Gros Ventre Boy, Joan (Arnold) GVB, Yvonne (Don) Shouting, Myra and Delia Hind Bull, Edna Devine, Alice (Bernie) Webster, Rena Devine, Oliver (Dolly) Gros Ventre Boy, Roland (Robbie) GVB, Robert (Heather) GVB, and Allan (Kristy) Devine.
