It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son,
Zayden Lane Conner “Kakatoosiisohkoomapii” Eagle Plume, on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 12.
Zayden is survived by his loving parents, Arnold and Bianca Mountain Horse; his siblings, Trisha, Miranda, Kodie, Kyresse (Denzel), Quaide Mountain Horse, Stevie Bird, and his biological sister, Allistar; his grandma Sharon (late Aylmer) Oka and his special grandma, Dorothy Day Chief; his aunties and uncles, Ruby Eagle Tailfeathers, Joanne (late Andrew) Twigg, Jake (Caroline) Mountain Horse, Kevin Mountain Horse, Jodie (Harlen) Crow, Dorothy (Clay) Delaney, Bryan Bottle, Shawn Singer, Josh (Jamie) Mountain Horse, and Candace (Ivan) Chief Moon; and his great-aunties, Christine Shade (late Ervin) and Mae Singer.
Zayden was born to his biological mother, Josie Eagle Plume, on September 20, 2013, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Shortly afterward, he became the family’s pride and joy. He attended preschool in Fort Macleod and later attended Ahsoapii Elementary School on the Blood Reserve.
Our sweet boy was so precious, and living every day with him was like a million bucks. He was truly a blessing, and his family is forever grateful to have shared his life. Zayden’s nickname was “Zman,” and he always responded when it was called. His favourite cartoon was Peppa Pig, which was never turned off. If it was turned off, he would most certainly let you know. He would be upset until someone put Peppa back on, and then he would be all smiles again.
Zayden loved music and dancing. His favourite song was “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars. He also loved powwow dancing, and his momma, Bianca, made him a grass dance outfit. His family was ecstatic when Zman won a Disability Special at a powwow in Lethbridge. His smile and dancing meant everything to his family.
Zayden meant the world to his family; their whole lives revolved around him. They made sure he never went a day without happiness. He shared a special bond with his papa, and they were inseparable. Zayden loved when his Papa Arnold would sing and call him “My Hunny,” which always brought a big smile to his face, no matter how he was feeling. He was always happy, and his smile was intoxicating to all who encountered him. He truly lit up every room with his sunny disposition.
The family and extended family were truly blessed to have Zayden in their lives, even if only for a short time. He touched the lives of everyone he encountered, and people were always concerned and asking about his well-being. He will be missed by his close cousins, Sinaya, Emma, Ryder, Conner, Meddrix, Zirus, Ruben, Caspian, Taylor, and Gary.

A Wake Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Sunday, December 14 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm.  The Funeral Service will be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Monday, December 15 at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow in Blood Band Cemetery, Blood Reserve, AB.
