BLAINE MARVIN EASTHOPE, passed away in Lethbridge on May 27 at the age of 76. Blaine was born on October 31, 1944 in Taber, Alberta to Thelma Rhoda (Hill) Easthope and Laurence Melvin Easthope.
Blaine is survived by his wife Deanna Margaret (Irwin) Easthope of 45 years; his children, Irwin (Tara) Easthope, Melissa Easthope, Mary Easthope, Spencer (Jennifer) Easthope, and Melvin (Kay) Easthope as well as 13 grandchildren. He is preceded by his Mother Thelma Easthope, Father L. Melvin Easthope, and sister Karen Salmon.
Blaine dedicated his life to serving others, in his home, as an educator and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He earned his rough hands from years of teaching Industrial Arts at F.G. Miller Jr./ Sr. High School in Elk Point, Alberta as well as from the many items he built in his home shop for those he loved. Blaine used those same hands as he tenderly spent hours searching, compiling and organizing family history. He searched out and honored his ancestors and the contributions they made by making sure their stories were told and remembered. Blaine was a pioneer in his own right by assisting in the formation of the first LDS branch of the church in St. Paul. Blaine and Deanna retired to Cardston, Alberta and continued to serve and touch other people's lives.
Blaine leaves a legacy for the love of sports, genealogy, wood work, gardening, service and family. He believed in hard work and completing things to the best of one's abilities. His influence and legacy will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for the generations to come.
Friends may meet the family at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Wednesday, June 2nd from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
A Family Service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment to be held in the Cardston Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the service is limited to 20 people.
