Dwight Branden First Charger passed away on February 24, 2024 on the Blood Reserve, Alberta at the age of 30 years.
He will be missed by his best friend, Cheyenne Plaited Hair and their three children, Tristan Harley Rose Plaited Hair, Daesha Carolyn Quinn First Charger and Casean Dante Knight First Charger; siblings, Amy Bird, Niomi Striped Wolf, Virgil Bird, Nicidus Vielle, Nathadius Vielle; grandparents, Clothilda First Charger and Jessie Bird; aunties, Suzanne First Charger, Desmond First Charger, Brenda Shot Both Sides, Wendy Shot Both Sides; uncles, Rex First Charger, Darryl First Charger, Ivan First Charger, Homer Shot Both Sides, Tim Shot Both Sides, Murray First Charger, Keith Chief Moon; he also got along with his mother-in-law Cindy Plaited Hair.
Dwight attended school on the Blood Reserve at the Levern Elementary School, St. Mary’s Middle School and St. Mary’s High School; he also attended school in Calgary at Lester B. Pearson High School.
Dwight enjoyed listening to music, writing poems and reading. He played various sports but enjoyed basketball and volleyball the most. He also enjoyed going to church especially attending The New Gospel Church in Little Chicago.
Dwight worked at various jobs in Calgary, Waterton, at B-Test and odd jobs cleaning houses and doing yard work.
All the family took part in raising Dwight, especially the late Gail First Charger, grandma Clothilda First Charger, Suzanne First Charger, the late Delvin Chief Moon, Rex & Debbie First Charger and Trisha First Charger.
Dwight now joins in heaven his mother, Carolyn Shot Both Sides; grandparents, Elvis Shot Both Sides and Gail First Charger, Dora First Charger, Clovis and Delphine Shot Both Sides, and Dan Sr. and Philomina Chief Moon; uncles, Lloyd First Charger, Herman First Charger, Leonard First Charger, Jerry First Charger and Bernie First Charger; aunties, Debra First Charger, Dorothy Shot Both Sides and Casey First Charger.
Dwight’s family consists of First Charger, Shot Both Sides, Chief Moon, Gros Ventre Boy, Bird, Big Sorrel Horse, Scout, Curly Rider, Crane Chief, Many Fingers, Rabbit and Hairy Bull families.
The family apologizes for any family or friends missed.
A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, Alberta on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 7:00 - 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall on Saturday, March 9 at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place in the Pioneer Cemetery.
