EDWIN CHARLES FLICKINGER, a devoted family man, a cherished friend, and a faithful servant of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ passed away Sunday September 10, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to nature. He will be deeply missed by ALL whose lives he touched.
Ed’s upbringing on a farm instilled in him a profound appreciation for the natural world. He loved to garden and grow vegetables in his greenhouse. Ed’s connection to nature was a testament to his reverence for Gods creations. His unwavering faith and devotion to his spiritual beliefs were guiding forces in his life resulting in a highlight of serving a mission with his sweetheart and wife, Arlene to the Canada Toronto mission. The Saviour radiated through his quiet actions as he exemplified kindness, understanding and forgiveness to those around him.
Ed possessed a remarkable talent for creating with his hands from building intricate contraptions, jewelry, furniture or vivid works of art. But it was his ability to create delicious meals that Ed found his greatest pleasure. He delighted in bringing people together around a table filled with his favourite creations, first in restaurants he owned and later wherever and whenever he could.
Ed’s memory will forever be cherished by his loving children, Terrilyn (Colin) Nelson, Gerald (Kim), Deborah (Bradley) Graves, Michael, deceased (April), Bradley (Monique), grandchildren (13 and 1 deceased) and great grandchildren (12), who were the centre of his world. He carried the memories filled with love and togetherness of his late wife Arlene, who passed a few years earlier.
May Edwin rest in eternal peace, knowing the loving impact he made in this world! Graveside service Cardston Cemetery Saturday September 16, 2023 at 12 pm. Picnic to follow at the “Coup”! South on Payne lake road 3rd approach.
