MARGARET “FAYE” FRENCH,  beloved wife of the late Charles Edgar “Ed” French, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 5, 2025, in Cardston Alberta at the age of 91 years. Faye was the 5th and youngest child of Edwin Leroy Duell and Ida Adams, born on January 26, 1934 in Lethbridge, Alberta. She was raised on the Duell family farm in New Dayton, attending school there until grade 12, when she transferred to Red Deer to complete her schooling.
Faye graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Galt School of Nursing in Lethbridge, then worked in Corpus Christi and Denver prior to her marriage to Ed on August 29, 1956 in the Cardston temple. Six children were born to this union. Family was her top priority as she was always there when needed.
Her love of sports took her to many games of her children and grandchildren. As her children grew, and left the nest, many hours were spent in the family history library in Lethbridge, helping people to discover their ancestors. She was also a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings over the years.
Faye’s love for Waterton began at a very young age when her parents would take the family there to camp and fish. It quickly became her happy place. She continued the yearly Waterton tradition with her own children. Because of her love for the mountains, she developed a passion for hiking and has travelled many trails with her family and friends around the world.
She is survived by her 6 children, Cynthia (Brian) Low of Cardston, Carol (Tim) Court of Cardston, Cameron French of Lethbridge, Marie (Ron) Anderson of Redcliff, Carla (Matt) Williams of Eagle Mountain, Utah and Kristine (Ron) Strate of Magrath, also daughter-in-law Debra French of Lethbridge. 29 grandchildren; 82 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her siblings Elton, Melvin, Lucy Delores, Jack; infant grandson Jared French, grandchildren Sean Court, Sarah Strate, and great grandson Easton Strate.

The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cardston Alberta West Stake Center, on Saturday, November 15th, at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may meet the family on Saturday at the church from 10:00 – 10:45 am prior to the service.
Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge, AB.
