We the family sadly announce the passing our beloved Asainskakii Ashley Lynn Gros Ventre Boy, a great Mother, Sister, Daughter, Niece and cousin, gone too soon to be with Creator.
She leaves to mourn her mother, Joyce (Ed) Gros Ventre Boy; god parents, Roland (Robbie) Gros Ventre Boy and Myra Hind Bull; Her children Billy Jay and Autumn Blue Chesney Wolf Child; her sisters, Patricia Healy, Eleanor Bad Arm, Rebecca (Darrel), Donna Gros Ventre Boy and Telsia Hind Bull, her brothers Joshua (Lenni) Curly Rider, Clayton, Radford and Leon Gros Ventre Boy; her aunties, Joan (late Arnold) Wells, Yvonne (Don) Shouing, Myra and Delia Hind Bull, Shirley Prairie Chicken, Monica Chief Moon; her uncles Jordon, Roland (Robbie), and Robert (Heather) Gros Ventre Boy, Charlie and Kenny Hind Bull; her great aunts, Frances Gros Ventre Boy and Alice Wolf Child; great uncle, Harrison Wolf Child; special great nephew, baby Ryan Winslow Curly Rider. Her nephews Karl, Rylie, Silas, Brandon, Coda, Layton, Drayton, Easton, Charlie and Emil. Her Nieces Brooklyn, Shonii, Shaylee, Tracey, Star, Ariel, Cassidy, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Kiley, Angel, Emily, Tori-Lee. Special siblings Sha’le, Tamara, Tasha. Numerous extended families include Hairy Bulls, Healys, Curly Riders, Wolf Childs, Crying Heads, and family apologies for any names missed.
Ashley grew up on the Blood Reserve in the Levern Community. Had attended Levern Elementary and Tatsikiisapoip Middle school. Ashley at an early age became a care taker, taking care of her father and nieces and nephews. Her motherly instincts and skills played a huge role in her family. Her older siblings always relayed on her to help care for the babies. Hence her always saying “You girls are going to have to start doing things on your own”. She had the biggest heart for her sisters and her nieces and nephews. Family was Ashleys passion.
Ashleys’ biggest loves is her two beautiful babies Billy Jay and Autumn Blue Chesney, often called Miss Blue. Greatest achievement would be her being a mother. Often fighting with her siblings at who does things best, but Ashley was always there for her family when called upon. Ashley was a beautiful soul, always humble and kind. Ashley had endured many challenges and always showed her courage, always showed how strong she was. Ashley was such a brave and humorous woman, always had a smile or a joke when you met up with her. In serious moments she would crack a joke. Ashley had so much love for her children, mom, siblings and family and friends.
Ashley was predeceased by her father, Ernest Healy; her brothers, Curtiss and Tyrone Healy, Andy and Huskey Gros Ventre Boy; her sisters, Tina Good Rider and Ernestine and Nicole Healy; her uncles, John J. Healy, Oliver and Bernard Gros Ventre Boy, Jason Hind Bull, Calvin Prairie Chicken and Norman Calf Robe; her aunties, Molly, Ann, and Martha Gros Ventre Boy; her dear cousins, Michael Gros Ventre Boy, Lennie Hairy Bull, Edward Bad Arm, Ty Small Eyes and Tyson Devine; maternal grandparents, Cecilia Gros Ventre Boy and Anthony Wolf Child; paternal grandparents, Phillomena Hairy Bull and Joe Healy Jr.; Special grandparents, Steven and Bertha Crying Head; a special Niece Taneesha Jahzel Gros Ventre Boy. The Family Service will take place at Darrel and Rebecca Shouting's residence from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 19. The Wake Service will continue at Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve from 7:00 - 11:00 pm continuing all night at Donna’s residence. Funeral Services will be at Senator Gladstone Hall on Thursday, July 20, at 11:00 am with interment to follow in Pioneer Cemetery, Blood Reserve.
