GLADYS EVELYN (FLEXHAUG) HAGUE passed away in Cardston, Alberta on August 16th at the age of 94.
Gladys is survived by her three children, Cynthia Allen of Rancho Mirage, California, Peter (Sheila) Hague of Cardston, Alberta, Philip Hague of Tooele, Utah, 8 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers Vern (Jo) Flexhaug, Robert (Lavonne) Flexhaug, and a sister, Jean Lehr.
Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband William Hague. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Lynda Flexhaug, Lenora Hoselton and three brothers Gordon, Leonard and Richard Flexhaug.
Gladys was born in Orion, Alberta on December 13, 1922. As a child she moved to Raymond, Alberta where she spent most of her youth and adult life. She attended Raymond High School until she eloped with the dashing Bill Hague who became her lifetime sweetheart.
During the Second World War she worked for the Raymond Sugar Factory and later at the Quality Market as a clerk. While raising her three children she worked at the Raymond Home as a care giver and she tenderly administered to the patients in her care. After working with the patients for 10 years she was promoted to an administrative position which lasted for 20 years until she retired.
Gladys loved to golf. Her greatest enjoyment was to hit the fairway with her husband Bill or a group of friends. She won many competitions and was thrilled to win a first at the Southern Alberta Summer games.
Gladys was blessed with many callings in the LDS Church but mostly loved the work she did at the Cardston Alberta Temple. She was a giver to her community and many people in need received her delicious buns and baked goods. She was a gregarious friendly lady who was loved by all who knew her.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel (across from the L.D.S. Alberta Temple) in Cardston.
Friends may meet the family from 10:00-10:45 prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
