WENDELL LOGAN HEAVY RUNNER
BORN: SEPTEMBER 20, 1989
DIED: DECEMBER 21, 2020
Wendell Logan Heavy Runner was called home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2020 at the age of 31 years old, in Lethbridge, AB., surrounded by his loving parents, family and friends. Logan was born September 20, 1989 in Cardston, AB., to Francis Heavy Runner and Lambert Many Fingers.
Logan was a friendly, caring young man who made friends wherever he went. Most of his friends were often older than he was. He enjoyed playing sports, especially travelling with his brother and their fastball team to various fastball tournaments throughout Alberta.
Logan always worked hard for anything he needed. He would often look ahead to the farming season as he loved driving the heavy machinery from combines and swathers to semi-trucks. In the off-season, he would look for various odd jobs whether it would be mowing lawns with his riding lawn tractor, to carpentry work. He also enjoyed looking for the beautiful and colourful ammonite rocks on the North-end of the Blood reserve with his ‘Buddies’ Roland, Oliver, and Jordan. Logan always looked up to Roland in everything he did and looked forward to the cruises and the jokes amongst themselves.
Logan was blessed with two wonderful children who were the light of his life. Logan loved Skyler and Chayzly with all his heart and thought of them each and every day.
At a young age, Logan would always go with his mom to church and the local camp meetings. That was when his life changed and began living for the Lord. Logan went everywhere with his Bible in his hand, travelling on faith. In 2019, Logan rededicated his life back to the Lord and was re-baptized. You would often hear him say: “Greater is He who is in me, than he that is in the world,” referring to 1 John 4:4.
Logan is survived by his loving parents: Frances Heavy Runner and Lambert Many Fingers. Siblings: Tashia (Brad), Robbie (Teralee) Heavy Runner, Loren Many Fingers and Shakira Crow Eagle. Children: Skyler and Chayzly Heavy Runner; Special brother: Roland (Robbie) Gros Ventre Boy. His Maternal grandparents: Lucy Russell and Oliver Russell; Paternal grandma: Rita Many Fingers. Adopted Grandma: Alice Wolf Child; Uncles: Rodney (Lavern) First Rider, Harvey Many Fingers, Pablo (Rio), Cisco (Charlene), Colin (Wanda), Lynn (Alisa) Russell, Frank Wolf Plume, Lambert (Carol) Panther Bone, Richard Cole, and Andrew Bull Calf; Aunties: Violet (Kelvin) Black Horse, Pam (Lucius) Wadsworth, Wanda (Scotty Many Guns) First Rider, Lorraine (Barry) Many Fingers, Mary Jo (Adrian), Theresa, Renita, Jackie Russell, Donna (Elmer) Soldier, Karen (Keith) Chief Moon, Celina and Jamie Heavy Runner.
Logan was predeceased by his grandparents: Pete Many Fingers, Albert & Winnie Panther Bone, Henry Rides At The Door, Kathrine Russell and Camille Russell. His Sibling: Tregan Crow Eagle; Great-Grandparents: Rachael Crying Head, Billy Heavy Runner and by aunties, uncles, and cousins too numerous to mention.
