NELL HOLLAND, was born on May 29th, 1931 at Fordwich, Ontario, to Everett and Dorothy Allen; she was the second of four daughters. Nell returned to her Heavenly Father’s loving embrace on December 26th, 2020 at Cardston, Alberta, surrounded by the love of her husband and children.
Nell met her best friend and eternal companion while dating his cousin, but it didn’t take long for Bob to recognize she was the girl for him. Nell married Bob Holland on September 30th, 1950 at Fordwich, Ontario and they were blessed with five children. The family moved west in 1972 and Nell loved her life on the family farm at Woolford, Alberta. She had a real soft spot for all animals but especially loved horses. Working outside alongside Bob and her family was what she enjoyed most.
Nell loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when the whole family was together on the farm. Nell loved the church and served in various capacities over the years. She and Bob served a senior mission to the Philippines in 2001 and Nell grew to love the people there.
Nell is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Bob Holland. As well as two sisters, Joan Hibbert and Marg Soehner, and extended family both here and in Ontario. She is also survived by her sons Ted (Doreen) Holland, Jim (Trudy) Holland, daughters Judy (Ross) Jacobs and Nancy (Craig) Carlson. Nell is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.
Nell was predeceased by her parents, sister Jean Mundle, son Bill Holland, grandson Michael Holland and great grandson Briggs Holland.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Low for his care and compassion for Nell over the years. Also, thank you to the staff of Lee Crest for the kindness and support they provided Mom.
