NEWANA WOOLF HOLT passed away peacefully and quietly in the early morning of January 7th, 2019 at the age of 90. NeWana was born on October 6th, 1928 to Sheldon (Ki) Woolf and Martha (Mitz) Woolf. She was the oldest of 4 children ... Sister, Dori Woolf Spackman (Melvin), Brother John (Jean) Woolf, Brother Sheldon (Joyce) Woolf ... NeWana married her Husband Clare W Holt on Aug 9th, 1952... they made their home first in Northern Alberta and then eventually Cardston Alberta. Together they raised 4 children. NeWana grew up in the Kimball and Cardston area... after high school she lived shortly in Ogden Utah then in Shelby Montana for a while, eventually one summer returning to work at the Prince of Wales in Waterton ...she worked there for 2 summers and said that is when she found her special place ... she’d pass that love of Waterton and the mountains on to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. NeWana was a business woman together with her husband Clare in the 1950s they started an Oil Field Tank Truck Company that they successful ran together for over 45 years ... she had a sense for business so involved herself in side adventures from their main business, the C&N cleaners & Laundry later a laundry and 1 hour photo shop in Cardston and eventually a laundry and 1 hour photo shop in Waterton as well and their small hobby cattle ranch in Leavitt . She relished in the business aspect of their company completely. In 1966 she acquired her dream home together with her husband Clare ... a small but simple summer home in Waterton her favorite place in the world where she could renew and energize herself escaping there even in the winters really anytime and always as much as possible she was “up in Waterton.” She had a love for horses passed down from her father and his father to her. A quarter horse named Strawberry was hers and often she could be found out on the small ranch her and Clare acquired in the 70s just riding around the fields on her beloved horse. She was straight up strong, intelligent & opinionated, a first class mom always putting her family first over anything else.
