It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Gina Michelle Hunt on March 14, 2024. Born June 17, 1993 to Beverly Hunt.
Gina was the kindest person. Always smiling with bright energy that lit up a room. She was always doing funny pranks on people just for a good laugh. That laugh was infectious and will be greatly missed. With her kind nature she made friends wherever she went. As a child Gina enjoyed travelling to powwow with her sisters. She danced in the girl's Fancy dance category. Gina graduated from the Catholic Central High School in Lethbridge. In Gina's young adult years she became part of the SAGE clan helping to connect with everyone she met. Being part of the SAGE clan gave Gina the opportunity to travel to Winnipeg and patrol with the Bear Clan.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, sewing and beading. Always challenging herself to try new tasks. She would always share her tips and tricks with others making the crafting experience more productive. Gina took part in the Peak R Space and Blackfoot Hub programs. These programs gave her the opportunities to enjoy activities like horseback riding and buffalo harvests. She also made a drum, rattle and traditional doll. Not afraid to learn new things.
Gina enjoyed animals and loved kittens so much that she volunteered at the animal
shelter. She always had to have something to fidget with. Out of nowhere she would pull
out slime, putty or some other little Knick knack. After a long day she enjoyed having a
bubble bath. Gina was always happy. Kind to all those she met. Lending a helping hand to whomever needed it or asked.
Gina is survived by her Grandmother Regina Hunt, brother Safraz, sisters Celina, Allyssa, and Annie. Nephew and nieces Joseph, Aisha and Amirah. Auntie Theresa Messenger, Theresa Many Grey Horses, Della Mills, Karen, Perline Day Chief. Uncles Calvin Crow, Roger (Cathy) Hunt, Rober Hunt, Gabriel Hunt, Wilbert Hunt, Stewart Weasel Moccasin, Leroy Hunt, Warren Hunt, and Wesley Hunt. Extended families Braverocks, Buckskins, Crow Spread His Wings, Rides at the Door, Vielles, Day Chief, Hunt, and Eagle Speakers.
The family apologizes for anyone that was missed.
Waiting for her arrival on the other side is her Mother Beverly, grandfather Micheal Crow and brothers Micheal & Clifford. Aunties Tamera, Carmen Day Rider, Wilma Hunt, Margaret, Carolla Harriet, and Barbara. Uncles Maurice, Cory, Patrick and Albert. Great grandparents Joseph & Olive Crow and Alec & Susie Hunt.
A Wake service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve, Alberta on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 5:00 - 10:00 pm. The Funeral Service will also be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall on Thursday, March 21 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in the St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
