Terrence (Terry) James Infanti - Passed away at the Lethbridge Hospital, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, with his family by his side.
Terry was born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, on March 20, 1942 to Max and Verna (Evoy) Infanti. He had an older sister, the late Maxine (Bob) Holley, and two younger brothers, the late Rick (Judy) Infanti and the late Barry Infanti. He and his brother, Ricky, were best buds and, being quite mischievous growing up, earned themselves the fitting nicknames of “Rippin’ and Tearin’.
He leaves behind Susan, his beloved wife of nearly 40 years; his children Scott (Lisa) Infanti, Teri-Lynn (Tom) Boisvert, and Jay (Deirdre) Infanti; his stepchildren Dean (Chuan) Wray, Mark (Sarah) Wray, the late David Wray, and Jennifer (Cole) Wynder; his precious grandchildren Chad (Holly) Infanti, Krista (Ryan) Gridzak, Katlyn, and Jerritt Infanti; Ryan and Evan Boisvert; Tristan (Erin), Aislinn, Chiara, and Livia Infanti; Cameron, Karson (Sandy), Matt, and Zhen-Zhen Wray; Josh (Amanda) Wray, Elizabeth (Mitch) Greene, Anna, and Kate (Alec) Erickson; Nathan, Mackenzie and Jacob Wynder; his sweet great-grandchildren Leighton, Locklyn and Tripp Infanti; Tallinn and Banks Gridzak; Althya and Elijah Wray; Mavis Wray; Bennett, Emilia and Clara Grace Wray; Kennedy and Olivia Greene; and Clark Erickson.
Terry began his working journey, at a young age, as a Licensed Auto Body Mechanic until he made a change into firefighting, where he truly found his passion. He loved his career as a firefighter with the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department and then as a Fire Inspector, retiring in 1995 as Chief of Fire Inspection. Not one to be able to ever just “sit around”, he worked for a few years as an Insurance Inspector before he and Sue made the move out to Cardston, Alberta, right near his beloved temple.
He was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving two missions as well as many church and temple callings. He was a man of great faith and had an immense love for the Saviour and his Heavenly Father. He was always so grateful for the life that he had been given.
Terry was a very friendly guy who could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He had a great sense of humour and was an avid storyteller. He could keep people endlessly entertained with the many, many stories of his childhood, missions, firefighting and hockey playing days. “I remember this one time…” was a line his family heard a lot!
He will be sorely missed by his large extended family, and his many friends in the Soo and in Cardston.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, Cardston. Friends may meet the family from 10 – 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Cardston Cemetery.
“So on the hard days, you must remind yourself: You wouldn’t trade the love to escape the grief. You wouldn’t erase the happiness to avoid the pain. And you will endure a lifetime of missing, for the privilege of having loved.” - Jason Arasi
