LIS EIDSVAAG JENSEN, 85, passed away on October 25, 2024, in Magrath, Alberta. She was born to Eilif and Ruth Kristensen in Copenhagen, Denmark, on February 24, 1939.
In June of 1960, Lis married her sweetheart, Arne Jensen, in the Cardston Alberta Temple. Together they had six children, Clark (Judy), Rueben – deceased, Karen (Brent), Derrick (Anita), Sean (Kate), and Anne Marie (Scott). Her posterity now includes 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving others whether at home, in her community, at church, or in the temple. She never had a harsh word to say about anyone and could always be trusted when confided in. Mom loved to garden and had beautiful flower beds which she tended carefully, and a vegetable garden that she and dad planted every year. Mom was a great cook and could make something out of nothing. Fresh bread and rolls, cakes, and many tasty Danish dishes filled our table and our bellies. Mom enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking, music and nature, but most of all spending time with her family. She could make any meal special by setting a beautiful table complete with candles and always had a plate of treats and a warm drink set out in the evening. She understood the art of “hygge” like no one else and you could feel it the moment you walked into her home.
Our deepest gratitude and thanks to the staff at the Good Sam’s in Magrath who treated mom with such love and care, and showed us, her family, such love and kindness.
