In Loving Memory of Kevin Johnson
Kevin Johnson passed away early in the morning of February 12, 2024 in Lethbridge Alberta surrounded by his family. Kevin’s entire life was about his family and his entire family was with him to sadly and lovingly see him go.
Born in Creston B.C. on March 10, 1958 to Jesse and Elinor Johnson, Kevin spent the first thirteen years of his life in British Columbia with his 8 siblings before his family moved to Cardston. Kevin spent the remainder of his school years in the community, graduating as a Cardston Cougar in 1976.
Alongside his inseparable sweetheart Debra, Kevin built a life in Cardston as he found award-winning employment at the local I.G.A. and raised his always-loved children, Stephanie, Shane, Jayna and Brittany. Never one to stand pat, Kevin struck out on his own in 1989 opening the landmark small grocery store J-Mart before moving his family to Lethbridge where they spent the next several years happily making a life in the big city. Kevin then lived for many years enjoying life with his family in Glenwood before eventually coming back to Cardston where he spent his final years.
No matter the location of his home Kevin instilled in his family a love of life, of sports, of movies, of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and most importantly, of people. Kevin lived a life of service typified by his always apparent love for everyone and everything around him. He was easily regarded as the kindest, most gentle, most caring man anyone had ever had the pleasure to encounter. His example and love continues to be shared by his wife, his four children, 3 sons-in-law and 10 grandchildren.
Kevin will forever be remembered, loved, highly regarded and missed.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel (355 3 St W, Cardston) Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop Jeff Johnson Officiating. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment to follow at the St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
