CARL MARTIN JONSSON, beloved husband of Joanne Jonsson, passed away in Stavely, Alberta on Monday, December 29, 2025 at the age of 86 years. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew him.
Born May 12, 1939 to Wilmar & Wilhelmina (Lukinuk) Jonsson in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. Besides his Eternal Sweetheart, Carl is survived by his children: Sherry (Dwayne) Kirby, Allen (Stephanie & granddaughter Isabelle) Jonsson, Carl Jonsson Jr, Kristina Jonsson (& Jordan Hansen). His only living sibling: Victor (Ellenor) Jonsson. Also Aunt Irene Ashenden & Aunt Glenda Lukinuk & their families and many Nieces, Nephews & cousins & their family’s, who he loved dearly…
He was predeceased by his parents: Wilmar & Wilhelmina (Lukinuk) Jonsson, son: Robert Joseph & siblings: Selma Jonsson Smith, Alan Jonsson & Danny (& Lynn) Jonsson.
Carl’s Memorial Service is this Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (950 Main Street, Cardston, Alberta) @ 10 am. Carl has been cremated (ashes will be disposed of at a later date).
Carl was a devoted husband, father, family man & friend. He loved to serve others. He served a full time mission & also served faithfully & had many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all his adult life. He was also a very hard working man throughout his life. He was determined to provide the best he could for his family. He worked right up till November 2025.
We know he is at peace & not suffering any more!
We will miss him, but we are so grateful we had him as part of our lives. We know that Families are Forever!! We look forward to the day when we will see him again!! RIP Carl!!
