He is preceded in death by his son Timothy and his parents Parley and Doreen (Bunnage) Leavitt.
Kerry grew up on the family farm northeast of Glenwood, and served a two-and-a-half-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Austria. Upon returning home he attended SAIT, completing a two-year course in agricultural mechanics.
In July 1964, Kerry married Ann Williams, daughter of Karl and Fern (McMullin) Williams. Together, they built a beautiful life in Glenwood centred around farming, faith, family, and fun.
A skilled driver, Kerry raced stock cars from 1966 to 1968. He worked tirelessly throughout his life; as a mechanic, farmhand, ranch manager, and custodian, before achieving his dream of farming his own land.
He later worked as a traveling welding instructor for the Alberta government before transitioning to trucking in 1993, a career he pursued until retiring at 77. His driving skills and love for the open road remained a lifelong passion.
Kerry loved to watch and play sports, hunt, fish, snowmobile and ride four-wheelers.
