Anne (Ina) Darlene Elder Bennett Long
Darlene, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at age 89. She was born on March 12th,1935 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada.
Darlene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she found strength and solace throughout her life. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built a loving home for her family. Darlene married her first husband, Donald K. Bennett, with whom she had six wonderful children: Randall (Shelley) Bennett, Kerry (Ted) Williamson, James (Heather) Bennett, Lorna Bennett, Daniel Bennett, Alan (Barb) Bennett. Darlene remained a committed and loving mother, instilling values of compassion, resilience, and service in her children.
Darlene found love later with Norman Edward Long and were married on September 24th,1988 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Together they created beautiful memories that filled their later years with happiness, companionship, service, and faith. They moved to Cardston, Alberta specifically so that they could serve in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They loved their service there! Darlene and Norman shared a bond that exemplified love and support until his passing in 2016.
Darlene is remembered for the love she extended to everyone around her. She took great pride in her family. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the lessons she taught them about love, faith and family.
She is survived by her six children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her spirit in their hearts.
Darlene Long will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her family would like to express their deep appreciation for the love and constant tender care Darlene received from Kay and Danny Ridley. They would also like to thank the staff of Lee Crest and Maggie Kronen.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Legacy Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
