LOW HORN
GENEVIEVE LOW HORN “Kainaiaaki” passed away on May 8, 2021 in Lethbridge, AB at the age of 70 years.
Genevieve Nina Low Horn, also known as “Kainaikii” and Momma Jenny, was born on December 7, 1950 in Cardston, AB to Bernard Plain Woman and Joan Little Mustache. Genevieve lived on the Blood Reserve all of her life. She went to nursing school to become a Patient Care Assistance (P.C.A.) Nurse. She worked diligently and created a great bond with the Elders as a P.C.A. Nurse. She went everywhere on the Blood Reserve in Stand Off making massive impressions with everyone wherever she went. Genevieve was married to Ray Black Plume for 23 years and they had six daughters; Joanne, Shoby-Rae, Cheryl, Kim, Louise, and Lucecilia. They were foster parents to Vincent, and Richard Red Crow, Sandra, Eileen, Robin, Ann Marie, Calvin, and Vivian Cut Face, Rolando, Jaunita, and Tracy Many Shots, and Kelson Eagle Plume. She had a special grandson, Jiraya and special granddaughters; Timisha, Jenna, Storm, Harmony and Morning Star. She had several spiritual sons and daughters. Although her and Ray went their separate ways, they remained friends until his passing in March 2021. She met Robert Low Horn in 1991 and was married in 1993 until his passing in 2009. Genevieve collected elephants and had to many to number. She dressed classy and elegant, and was known for her beautiful hats and jewelry. Genevieve was compassionate, gentle, loving and caring. She was very giving and would lend a helping hand to whomever she could. Her loving smile, and gentle laugh will be greatly missed. Genevieve had a great love for God and dedicated her life for Him. She was a minister for 58 years. At the time of her passing she was a faithful member of Shekinah Glory Full Gospel Church under the leadership of her daughter, Pastor Lucecilia Thunder, and Apostle Eugene and Joy Satterwhite. Prior to that she served at Miracle Deliverance Full Gospel Church under the Pastorialship of Ray Black Plume, and later Allen Black Plume. Afterwards Darcy Knife became pastor and changed the church name to Shekinah Full Gospel. For many years she travelled throughout Canada and the United States doing Ministry work. She met and worship with many ministers and pastors from the Navajo Apache Reservations, Tacoma, WA, Crow Nation in MT, Phoenix, AR, Lodge Grass, MT, Forth Worth, TX, Hoopa, CA, White Fish, AB, Wabasca, AB, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK, Siksika Nations, AB, Peigan Nation, AB, and Blackfeet Reservation to name a few. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; Bernard Plain Woman and Joan Little Mustache; a brother; Clement Plain Woman, two sisters; Joyce and Louise Plain Woman, a daughter; Kimberly Cross Child, foster sons, Kelson Eagle Plume, Calvin Cat Face and Vincent Red Crow, foster daughters; Vivian Cat Face, Rolando and Tracy Many Shots, three grandchildren; Eugena, Levi and Emmanuel. Genevieve Nina Low Horn departed this life on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Lethbridge, AB. She is survived by her daughters; Joanne, Shoby-Rae (Toby), Cheryl, Louise, and Lucecilia (Timothy), foster daughters; Sandra, Eileen, Robin, Ann Marie, Vivian, Rolanda, Jaunita, and Tracy, foster sons; Vincent and Richard, spiritual daughters; Laurie, Jessica, Rose, Dallas, Jan, Mel, Jackie, Adeline, and Patti, son-in-law; Daylin, spiritual sons; Richard, Stan, Joey, Chopper, Jeff, Gildas, Doug and Grand; adopted son Alan; adopted daughters, Denise NP, Juanita, Janet, Charmaine, Trudy, Teresa, Moriah, Michelle. She is survived by her three brothers; Gordon (Ilona), Greg (Bernice) Plain Woman, and Eugene Aberden, four sisters; Cheryl (Arnold) Shouting, Sally and Bernadine Plain Woman and Priscilla Bastien. She is also survived by many grand kids and great grand kids, her dear friend Doreen, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 28th, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Legacy Funeral Home in Cardston, AB. A Viewing will also be held at Legacy Funeral Home on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm followed by a Family Service at 1:00 pm.
