With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Bryan Kent Lybbert announces his passing. Bryan, age 89, of Raymond, Alberta, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on July 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of family.

Born December 2, 1935, in Cold Lake, Alberta, to Lloyd and Luella (Anderson) Lybbert, Bryan—known to many as BK—grew up alongside seven brothers in the wide-open spaces of Alberta. He often reminisced with joy about his early years on the ranch, where his lifelong love for horses and the land began. Bryan also found great fulfillment on the open road as a truck driver. He was proud to have safely driven over two million miles—an achievement he always credited to the protection and guidance of his Heavenly Father.

Above all, Bryan lived to serve—his family, his community, and especially his Lord. His faith anchored his life, and he walked each day with quiet devotion and gratitude. Family, trucks, and horses—these were the cornerstones of a life marked by humility, service, and strength.

On November 6, 1958, Bryan married his beloved eternal companion, Dreena Kay Rice of Claresholm, Alberta. Together, they built a beautiful life and eternal legacy. Bryan is survived by their four daughters: Darla (Reed) Mendenhall, Iris (Ron) Ackroyd, Verlaine (Darcy) Barrett, and Marissa (James) Hamilton; as well as numerous beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He is also lovingly remembered by his three remaining brothers: Dan, Sylvan, and Morgan.

He is now reunited with his beautiful bride Dreena; his parents, Lloyd and Luella; four brothers—Golden, Gordon, Calvin, and Dale; and a cherished great-granddaughter, Lily Stone.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cobblestone Chapel, 27 Cobblestone Lane, Raymond, AB. A family greeting will begin at 9:30 a.m., with interment to follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Raymond Long Term Care for the love and dignity they offered Bryan in his final chapter, and to Legacy Funeral Homes for their compassion and support.

"Slow down, stay alert, pay attention – Great Slave Lake."
A parting motto, a gentle reminder, and the way Bryan always said goodbye.

The Funeral Service for Bryan will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 am in Raymond, AB at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cobblestone Chapel (27 Cobblestone Ln).  Friends may meet the family from 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to the service.  Interment will take place in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, AB.
