Cheryl Lynn (Minty) McCarthy
Beloved wife of Logan McCarthy, passed away in Cardston Alberta on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the age of 81 years old.
Cheryl was born on July 27, 1944, in Lethbridge Alberta to James and Rhoda Minty. She was raised in Carmangay Alberta,  along with twin brother Dick and little sister Myrna.
Cheryl studied nursing in Calgary from 1963-1964 and it was during her second posting that she was sent to Cardston where she met the love of her life Logan Eugene McCarthy. Afterward, she was transferred to Edmonton for a time, but her heart remained in Cardston. Before long, she was able to secure a position back in the community she had grown to love, They were sealed in the Cardston Alberta Temple, September 11, 1965, a commitment that shaped their lives and remained a source of strength and joy through out their marriage.
A compassionate caregiver by nature, Cheryl dedicated her professional life to nursing at the Cardston Hospital. She especially loved her time on the pediatric unit, where she cared for countless children with tenderness and skill. Her gentle manner, steady presence, and genuine concern for others made her a beloved nurse to colleagues, families and young patients alike.
Music was another of her great loves. She was a dedicated pianist and especially cherished playing for the primary children. She served faithfully in her church callings and often expressed that she never wished to be released, finding deep purpose and joy in sharing her talent.
Cheryl  found  great joy in working outdoors, especially along side Logan. Together, they spent hours in their yard: pulling leaves, gathering twigs, and carefully tending every corner of their garden. She took immense pride in their yard, and it showed; many remarked that it looked like a beautifully kept park.  Creating and nurturing that space was one of her greatest pleasures.
Cheryl will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, creativity, and unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and her community. Her presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Cheryl is survived by her husband Logan McCarthy, by her children Roanna(Francisco) Larios, Renae (Chris) Canales, Curtis(Jolynn), Kevin(Kiera Wartman), Derek(Shawna), Michael( Shaunie), Ashley(Jason) Ogertschnig; 17 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Corey and daughter in law Tami.
