JASON “JADE” LAWRENCE MELTING TALLOW, (Aaponnistaisahkommapi -White Cap Buffalo Boy), passed away on June 17, 2023 in Calgary, AB at the age of 29 years.
It is with great sadness to think about Jason leaving us too soon. He left us with a lifetime of memories. Jason (Jade) is survived by his siblings Dustin and Dakota MeltingTallow.
Maternal uncles; Evan MeltingTallow Jr (Diana) Bill MeltingTallow Sr (Jackie) Paul “Butch” MeltingTallow (Darlene) Dave MeltingTallow. Aunts; Jewell “Dawn” MeltingTallow (David) Carol MeltingTallow (Carlyle) Marie MeltingTallow Neumayer (Louis) and Cindy Tailfeathers (Kabel).
His former spouse Brittany Shot Bothsides and baby daughter Alexi Jade. Paternal grandmother Katherine (Kathy) Four Horns, Audrey White Quills, aunts Deirdre White Quills and Pearl White Quills and uncle Chevy Four Horns.
Jade was cherished by numerous step siblings, extended family adopted family and friends.

Jade was predeceased by his grandparents Evan Sr. And Juanita MeltingTallow, his beloved mother Anita MeltingTallow (Twinks), grandfather Chester "Golly" Heavy Runner auntie Maria White Quills, his father Olie Jason White Quills, Patsy and his cherished cousin Katelyn WhiteQuills, Beverly Running Crane and Geraldine "Dolly" White Quills.
Jade was born in Calgary AB and raised in Lethbridge and the southern Alberta area. He enjoyed playing basketball, skateboarding, playing guitar and loved and excelled as a traditional champion dancer. His uncle Evan Jr said that he learned his dance style and moves then made them his own with his own style and grace. Evan Jr holds those memories with much pride. His family and pow wow friends remember his achievements as a dancer with honor and respect.
Jade loved and deeply missed his mother Anita, (twinks) he said that she made him to become that traditional dancer. Jades love and connection to his siblings Dustin and Dakota was strong. He adored his nieces Ericka and Ariel, we know he would have looked forward to introducing his babygirl Alexi, to them and to his family and friends.
He grew up with his cousins and friends that he considered to be his brothers and sisters; Ranelyn, Katelyn, Julian, Shaylee, Zack and Cheyenne,
and so many more. They remember him as outgoing, having a unique sense of humor and for his witty teasing and kidding around attitude.
Jades family and friends will miss his handsome face, vibrant smile and kind loving aura.
A Wake Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Blood Reserve on Thursday, June 29 from 6:00 - 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Friday, June 30 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s cemetery.
