MARLA OLIVE (WALBURGER) MILLER passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, July 30, 2021 after a valiant fight with cancer.
Marla was born Sept. 7, 1950 and raised in Mountain View, AB. She lived in Cardston and surrounding areas her entire life, where she raised her 5 boys. Marla was a nurse and worked in the Cardston Hospital for 35 years, as well as Grandview Nursing Home, Good Samaritans & the Standoff Health Centre. She served in her community as a basketball referee, a softball umpire, and in various callings in her Church.
During her life, Marla loved sports. She participated in basketball, softball, running and working out. She loved watching her sons and grandchildren play sports and was an avid Yankees fan. She was a perfectionist when it came to her homemade chocolates, which were a delight to many. Marla enjoyed crafts, particularly cross-stitching which she made for each one of her daughters-in-law and her grandchildren. She was also known for her beautiful flower arrangements.
Marla is survived by her loving husband, Craig and her sons: Jeff Wynder (Rae), Justin (Jolene) Wynder, Ryan (Sonia) Wynder, Travis (Joanne) Wynder, Kent (Kristi) Wynder, 16 amazing grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, Jeanette (Glen) Sommerfeldt, Gerald (Sharon) Walburger, Denise (Gordon) Algate, Perry (Helen) Walburger, Beryl (Spencer) Dattage and Lorie (Jack) Rasmussen. She was predeceased by her parents, John & Olive Walburger, brothers, Mark & Delroy “Sam”.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors, many of whom were also colleagues. They helped care for her in the same way she has helped care for countless others.
Friends may meet the family on Tuesday evening ONLY, August 3rd from 7-8 p.m. at the Temple Street Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, 355 3rd St. W., Cardston.
Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
