It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Shaylene Nadine Mills in Lethbridge September 23, 2023 at the age of 27. Shay was born in Lethbridge on January 24, 1996 to the late Bobby Holy Singer and Monica Mills, she was the oldest of 4 siblings (Kal, Chanel, Ashanti “Lee”, and Mekhi). Shay grew up in Moses Lake. She attended Cardston Elementary and Tatsikiisaapo'p Middle School, later graduating from the Life management program through Social Development. Growing up, Shay could be found at her grandma Mary Ann’s house playing make believe games with her cousins and the neighbourhood kids. She enjoyed anime shows, video games and she had a fond love of music and art. It was her late father Bobby who inspired her to draw and in turn she inspired her younger siblings to take up an active interest in art. When it came to video games, she was always the first to get mad at the people who didn’t play the games right, we call them button mashers and Shay felt they were cheating instead of trying to play the game correctly. Over the years, Shay was able to do a bit of travelling. She got to go to Calgary to visit family and friends, she often spoke of the trips to the states she took with her grandma Mary Ann. She wanted to travel the world. When it came to family, she took on a motherly role of her four younger siblings, she insisted because she was the oldest, so this meant she was in charge. Family was very important to her, as she had always wanted a family of her own. She used to dream of having her own kids, often playing the mom to her pets growing up. Her dreams were fulfilled when she had Trayvon Bobby Joel in July 2017. It wasn’t long before she had her hands full when she had Myla Violet in October 2018. Although her time with her babies was short, they were her whole world, her pride and joy. She loved them fiercely and no one could argue that she didn’t do everything she could for her babies.
