HAROLD JOHN NEILSON, passed away peacefully at Cardston, Alberta, February 7th, 2022 at the age of 96 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife and sweetheart, Monty, of 71 years.
He is survived by his seven daughters: Ginny (Ken deceased) Williams of Raymond, AB;
Lorretta (Mac) Reeder of Beazer, AB; Lynda (Arn) Pitcher of Cardston, AB; Barbara (Lynn deceased) Nish of Cardston, AB; Haroldine Neilson of Margrath, AB; Dorie (Wendell) Shaw of Cardston, AB;
Paula(Jason)Hartley of Aetna, AB. Along with 29 Grandchildren, 66 Great Grandchildren, and
2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Harold was born August 4, 1925, in Mountain View, Alberta, the youngest child of James Peter and Evelyn Hilda Brockway Neilson. Harold's mother passed away 3 months after he was born. What a joyous reunion this will be for mother and son.
Harold was born and raised in Mountain View, where he enjoyed ranching and the great outdoors all his life. He loved his family, riding his horse, the beauties of nature, and his picturesque view of Chief Mountain from his living room window.
He and Monty enjoyed their service in the Cardston Temple for many years. He had great faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ and an unwavering testimony of the Gospel.
The Neilson family would like to thank Dr. Justin Low for his tender care of dad, especially in the last year as well as the staff at Lee Crest for their compassionate care.
The Funeral service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mountain View, Alberta. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
