MONTY LORETTA LOW NEILSON our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Lee Crest in Cardston, Alberta at the age of 88. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband Harold of 71 years and their seven children: Ginny (Ken deceased) Williams of Raymond, AB; Lorretta (Mac) Reeder of Beazer, AB; Lynda (Arnold) Pitcher of Cardston, AB; Barbara (Lynn deceased) Nish of Cardston, AB; Haroldine Neilson of Magrath, AB; Dorie (Wendell) Shaw of Cardston, AB; Paula (Jason) Hartley of Aetna, AB. Along with 29 Grandchildren, 57 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter, all whom she loved dearly. She also leaves to mourn her passing: sisters, Blanche (Guy deceased) Bowlby and Erva (Louis deceased) Armsworthy. Monty was predeceased by her parents, William Ervin Low and Doris Elizabeth Taylor Low; her brother, Andrew Gordon Low; her grandson Harold Scott Mannarino; and her great granddaughter Elizabeth Lorretta Fields. Monty was born July 16, 1932 in Cardston, AB. She lived in Jefferson for 3 years and then the family moved to Aetna where she attended grades 1-5. Their next move was to Cardston where she attended grades 6-9. Their final move as a family was to Mountain View where she attended grades 10-11. Monty also met the love of her life Harold Neilson in Mt. View and they were married on December 14, 1949 in Cardston. They lived for 66 happy years on the ranch in Mt. View. Monty enjoyed being a homemaker and excelled at baking, home decorating, knitting, sewing, crocheting, cross stitching, writing poetry, and planning family gatherings. She will be remembered by many for her beautiful nativity collection which she displayed each year in her home for all to enjoy. She was a woman of beauty, humility, and love. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in many callings. Monty loved the temple where she and Harold served as ordinance workers for many years. Family meant everything to Mom. Oh how we love and miss you! Families are Forever. Love you more!
